In loving memory of

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die
Support my challenge to fight for a world without pancreatic cancer
This September, I'm walking 84km for the 84 people who die from pancreatic cancer every 3 days in the UK.
Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK.
Right now, 31 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day in the UK.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 84km remember those we've lost, and stand with those affected by pancreatic cancer.
Please make a donation to support me, and together we will help to support people, find a cure and a way to detect this cancer much earlier.
We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.
As a group of Uni friends we have created a team to remember and honour Anj who we met on our first day at Uni. Our lives were never the same again in the best way possible from her amazing outgoing nature, invasion of personal space, jingly jangly jewellery, penchant for dressing up (especially legendary as Tina Turner) her malapropisms and hearing tales of her incredible adventures as well as being sensitive and having an awe-inspiring empathy - she just got it! Oh we so wish we could have had more time with her and she put up a such courageous fight but in the end she became a client in St David's Hospice where she had spent 20 years working to help others and help make their final few weeks as peaceful as possible. It was so difficult for them as she was such a valued member of their team as she touched people's hearts where ever she went.
Anj will be with us every step of the way as she always is. And we live by the motto of #bemoreanj. So as she would say, chin up, tits out, you've got this! Let's do this for our gorgeous girl!
It seemed unthinkable that she could be diagnosed with the same as Nicola's sister Helen who had passed away just a few short months before Anj's diagnosis. Helen, who again put up a courageous fight is being honoured here as well and Nicola is fundraising doing the same challenge (but walking further) in Australia. Well done Nicola, Helen would be so proud of you.

For Anj. So special and I feel honoured to have been friends with her. Always in our hearts and all her family and friends continue to feel her presence in all we do. She lived by the quote from Maya Angelou "People will forget what you said and what you did but they will never forget how you made them feel." and she certainly had a massive positive impact on our lives #bemoreanj And also for Helen, whilst her sister Nicola does this walk in Australia to honour and remember Helen, we will remember too. Both battled hard but were taken far too soon so let's help find a cure or a way for earlier detection to beat this!
