How long does Remember September run for?
Why is it called Remember September?
What's the distance goal?
We encourage you to walk 84km this September for the 84 people who die from pancreatic cancer every 3 days in the UK. We also have an option to double or triple the challenge.
Of course, you can also choose your own distance.
The most important thing is choosing a distance you're comfortable with and can commit to throughout September.
How much should I fundraise?
We’ve set three default fundraising goals you can choose from.
- £138 could provide an information pack to 8 newly diagnosed people with pancreatic cancer to help them understand and cope with their diagnosis.
- £261 could fund a day of pancreatic research to find new and better treatments to help save lives.
- £564 could fund a Support Line nurse for 3 days to help people make sense of their diagnosis and guide them through their pancreatic cancer journey.
Where do the funds I raise go?
Funds raised will support cutting-edge research to improve early diagnosis and treatments, specialist nurse Support Line and support services for people affected by pancreatic cancer across the UK.

I registered as an individual but want to join a team, what do I do?
Click here to search for the team name and simply click “Join Team”!
If you run into any difficulties, email us at fundraise@pancreaticcancer.org.uk
How do I create or join a team?
Rather than going it solo, gather a few friends, your family or a group of colleagues and take on the Remember September challenge together. During the registration process you will be asked if you want to register as an Individual, Create a Team or Join a Team.
You can create a team during registration, or create one at anytime afterwards! Or if you’ve got a friend or family member who already has a team, you can join theirs too.
Can my company take part in Remember September?
Yes, your company can create a team and take part together. We suggest including your company name in your team name, so your team is easily recognisable and others know who you are. It’s best to nominate a team leader who can register the team first and then subsequently invite colleagues to register under that team name.
How can I connect my fitness apps and start syncing fitness data?
Your profile page includes your personal distance tally so you can track your distance towards your target. This is a great way to keep your friends updated on your workouts!
If you track your workouts with Fitbit or Strava your distances will automatically add to your tally.
Follow these steps to track your kilometres automatically:
1. Download the Fitbit or Strava app and set up your account.
2. Log in to your Remember September account
3. Under the heading ‘Connect your preferred Fitness app’, click your chosen app.
4. Follow the prompts to connect your account
5. When you next work out, select ‘start your workout’ in the app on your phone. Once you end your workout, save your workout and your distance will be published to the tally on your page the following day.
If you have synced your app already but it is not working, please log in and re-connect it.
When using Fitbit, you must ‘start’ an activity and save it. Your daily steps will not automatically add to your page. If you are having issues, try syncing through BOTH your Fitbit and the Fitbit app on your smartphone.
Your tally will be updated each day with the previous day’s distances.
Remember, you can manually add your kilometres to the tally in your My Fitness Activity tab of your profile after registering. This is a great option if you’re using a pedometer or a different method of tracking your distances.
Follow these steps to manually add your KMs:
1. Log in to your Remember September account and select ‘My Fitness Activity’
2. Under ‘Add activity’, enter the date and distance
3. The number of kilometres will now appear on your fundraising page!
How can I change my fundraising goal?
Changing your fundraising goal is super easy. Simply follow these steps:
- Login to your dashboard
- Click ‘Edit My Page’ and you’ll see the ‘Fundraiser Target’ section
- Update your fundraising goal and click ‘Update Details’
Your goal will then update and show on your fundraiser page.
How can I raise even more awareness in my community?
One way of helping raise the profile of pancreatic cancer, Pancreatic Cancer UK and Remember September is through outreach to local media.
Cancer advocates can work on a local or national level, raising public awareness of the disease to help advance pancreatic cancer research, improve the quality of cancer care, and raise the national profile of the disease.
Local media are interested in your own powerful, human story so if you reach out to them, be prepared to share the story and background of how pancreatic cancer has affected you and your family.
