I lost my nan and my uncle to pancreatic cancer, and so I am doing this for them, and all the other people who have been affected by this 💟

After a very scary health scare and now having, Pancreatitis. I what to make people aware of this condition & how incredibly painful & non reversible, if not treated as soon as possible xXx What can be mistaken for Pancreatitis?!?!? Cholecystitis (Gallbladder Disease): Inflammation or gallstones in the gallbladder cause sharp pain in the upper right or center abdomen that can mimic a pancreatitis attack. • Gastritis: Stomach lining inflammation causes burning pain and nausea after eating, similar to early or chronic pancreatic flare-ups. • Peptic Ulcer Disease: Sores in the stomach or upper small intestine create gnawing abdominal pain that often radiates to the back. • Intestinal Blockage: A bowel obstruction shares symptoms like severe abdominal cramps, vomiting, and sometimes elevated enzyme levels. • Pancreatic Cancer: Chronic or autoimmune forms of pancreatitis can mimic tumors on imaging tests because both cause weight loss and similar tissue changes. • Indigestion: Severe acid or functional discomfort can feel like mild or recurring pancreatic pain.

Remembering our mother Betty who died from this dreadful disease in 2002 and now my brother is fighting the same battle.

I'm walking in memory of my lovely mum who passed away last September aged 67. She lived for a year after diagnosis with limited treatment options available, which sadly seems to be a typical story with this cancer. We made some lovely memories in her remaining time, but it never felt like enough. I miss her every day

I thought I’d finish off the Pancreatic Cancer appeal with a little tribute to Dave Quinton. He was taken far too early by this aggressive form of cancer. He was 59 when he passed away and that’s so unfair. Dave lived his life with an open heart, a quick smile and an unwavering devotion to his family. We had so many more memories to make and so many more laughs to share. Dave and my sister, Jacqui, built a home filled with warmth, security, and endless support for Tom, Jonty and Ollie. Whenever they needed a steady hand or a voice of reason, he was always there. Dave faced his illness with quiet dignity and courage. He didn't complain; instead, he focused on making the most of every single moment he had left with his family, ensuring that they felt secure. Once again I’d like to thank you all for your magnificent support! My Target was £500. You helped me raise £1120 That’s 225% of my target! Thanks Peeps! 🙋🏽‍♂️💙

My dad was told he only had a few weeks left to live when he was finally diagnosed. He went on to survive 3 more years driven by his love for his family and taking part in every medical trial that would have him. He believed in science and research. The public health services refused to provide him end of life care as he was told he lived remotely. Again he preferred to stay in the family home with make-do end of life care rather than be separated from us. That's why I'm walking 100k this September to honour him and to help others in this situation.

My friend Karen has pancreatic cancer and is fighting with everything she has got. I am so proud of her for being so brave and strong. We are right beside her every step of the way. Wherever this journey takes us. Love you 😘
