Support my challenge to fight for a world without pancreatic cancer

In April I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer! 

Bit of a shock all round, but luckily it was caught earlier so I have a fighting chance to beat this.

I am doing alright and I have been going through Chemo and hopefully at the end of September I will find out if it has been working to reduce the mass, so we can find out what the next step of the plan is.

So, I'm challenging myself to  get moving and walk a minimum of 84km this September and helping to raise funds to fight against this horrible disease.

If you would like to join me in walking, be it by yourself or join me on one of my walks, or if you are able to donate, I would be really grateful.

84 is the number of people who die from pancreatic cancer every 3 days in the UK - I am determined not to be part of that statistic.

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK.

Dinton Walk No 1

Well last sunday ( 20th Sept) a little merry band met up at Dinton pastures to take a wander around the lake.
They came from near ( down the road ) and far ( Lake District - thank you to the Parkers for coming down and making a weekend of it).
The sun was shining and it was a lovely stroll, finished off with a cuppa and cake ( I do like my cake ! )

Thank you to those who, although couldn't join us went out for their own little walk. 

I am doing well with the walking, and just only a week to go, i might smash the 84km target.

Also massive thanks to all those who have donated - we are now are £3028 and if you add in the gift aid then we have hit £3,531 .... THAT IS AWESOME !

Your generosity will help patients, nurses and the pancreatic society to raise awareness and provide support where it is needed.

I can't thank you enough.

So this Sunday we are again meeting at Dinton at 13:30 and doing another stroll, cuppa and cake !
If you can join, then it would lovely to see you.

Oh and if you have a silly hat, bring it along - it gets people asking what we are doing and why  !!

Still Walking !

Hi All, how are you doing?
I'm doing ok, had a few tough days , always the way after Chemo - the steroids are a bitch !! 

So this Sunday I am still planning to do my walk around Dinton Pastures.... it seems that quite a few of you are joining me, which is amazing.

Plan is; 
Meet in the overflow carpark ( on the right as you drive in) at 13:30.
Routes: 
There are various routes you can choose, either the main 4km around the lakes, or 3.2km around the main lake, or a gently stroll up to the activity  centre and back - about 2km.

One request :  If you have a silly hat, bring it and wear it !!!

PanCan #1 Walks

To say I am blown away with the support is an understatement - Thank you all so much.

As promised and to help me reach my target of walking 84km in September, I will be doing a couple of walks , which anyone is welcome to join me in: 

Dates: 20th and 27th September 
Time : 13:30
Location: Dinton Pastures, Main Carpark, Davis Street Hurst, RG10 0TH
Distance: 4km
Refreshments: Cuppa and Cake in cafe afterwards
Dogs, children and associated adults / humans are all welcome.

This is all weather and health permitting, but it would be great to see you there.
