💜 83km for my beautiful Mum – raising awareness for pancreatic cancer 💜
This September, I’ll be taking on an 83km walking challenge to raise money and awareness for pancreatic cancer — a cause that has become incredibly personal to me and my family.
My beautiful Mum is currently facing pancreatic cancer, and watching someone you love go through this cruel disease is something I could never have imagined.
Cancer doesn’t just affect the person who receives the diagnosis. It affects the whole family. It changes everyday life. It brings fear, uncertainty, exhaustion and heartbreak, while you try to stay strong for the people you love most.
My Mum is incredibly brave. She has been through major surgery, chemotherapy and so much physically and emotionally, yet she continues to face each day with courage. Watching her become so weak and frail has been one of the hardest things our family has ever experienced. 💔
So every kilometre I walk in September will be for Mum.
For her strength.
For her courage.
For our family.
For everyone currently fighting pancreatic cancer.
And for the families who have already lost someone they love.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most devastating cancers, and it desperately needs more awareness, earlier diagnosis, better treatments and more research.
This September, I'm walking 84km for the 84 people who die from pancreatic cancer every 3 days in the UK.
Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK.
Right now, 31 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day in the UK.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 84km remember those we've lost, and stand with those affected by pancreatic cancer.
