I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
As most of you will know I lost my soul mate and best friend back in March to Pancreatic Cancer. Keith fought his best fight and amazed me every single day.
Love it or hate it - Keith and I are long term smokers but now is the time to change that, it is going to be tough but that's where this fundraiser comes in.
I am doing this for my Keith, to make myself feel better and improve my health. They say the first couple of weeks are the hardest so having this as my reason to stop will spur me on.
I am fundraising in memory of my amazing husband Keith Wollaston. 💜💜
-
• One person dies from the disease EVERY HOUR in the UK
• Around 8,800 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every year. Around 8,700 people also die from the disease every year.
• Pancreatic cancer is the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK
• Pancreatic cancer has the worst survival rate out of ALL common cancers
• Pancreatic cancer receives only around 1% of funding from the National Cancer Research Institute
• Late diagnosis is a huge problem - 80% of patients are diagnosed when the cancer is already metastatic (ie spread to other organs
Pancreatic cancer is tough – tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. And, in the uncertain times we’re currently experiencing, things have become even tougher for people with pancreatic cancer.
I’m taking on Challenge 24 at home to raise money for this vital cause because 24 people are still dying every day from pancreatic cancer.
Please support me and my fundraising. Together we can make a difference and fund life-saving research.
My donations could fund...
21 hours with a nurse on our Support Line
or
9 hours of early diagnosis research
