Support my challenge to fight for a world without pancreatic cancer
It is nearly six years since, Phil, my husband died from pancreatic cancer. He is so missed by all his friends and family, especially our daughters and grandchildren. He was such a great ‘Pippy’.
In those six years there have been amazing breakthroughs in research and if it continues, then hopefully my children, your children, my grandchildren and your grandchildren and all the people that are dear to me and you may be spared.
Early detection is key. We bought new sofas as Phil thought that was what was causing his back ache and as always being on the cuddlier side of slim he was initially quite happy about the unexpected weight loss 😢
I have taken up this challenge in memory of Phil with my four legged, best friend, Oakley. 100 km doesn’t sound a lot until it’s raining and he would really rather stay inside 😊
Currently, 84 people die from pancreatic cancer every 3 days in the UK.
Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK.
Right now, 31 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day in the UK.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 100 km remember those we've lost, and stand with those affected by pancreatic cancer.
