I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Pancreatic cancer is tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. Please support me and help make a difference to pancreatic cancer.

I have lost 3 friends and former teammates to this cancer over the last 4 years.

I am going to attempt 100 sit ups a day for the next 24 days to try and raise money for research.

As I have not done any exercise for a while (and it’s at least 20 years since I regularly did any sit ups!), this is going to be a bit of a challenge!

My donations could fund...

13 hours with a nurse on our Support Line

or

6 hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

Day 26

Well yesterday I did no sit ups for the first time in 24 days, but today I did a hundred, something I may keep doing.
Thanks to everybody, we raised £350 in sponsorship and at least another £50 in gift aid for the charity. Hopefully the money raised will help in the fight against all cancers, but this one in particular.
Thanks to you all for your support!
Cheers
Paul

Day 24!!

Last day, of the challenge, and 200 very sweaty and painful sit ups completed by 6am!!
Thanks to everybody who has donated, and you still have time to donate!!
Looking forward to not doing sit ups tomorrow lol

Day 23

At work today, and as I knew it was going to be hot, 150 sit ups done and dusted by 6.10 am!!!
Still time to donate!!

Day 22

You may have noticed that it’s quite hot today!
150 done, lots of sweat left on the mat lol.
Thanks to everybody who has donated, 2 days left to donate, if anybody still wants too!
Remember Friday, I will try to do 200!!

Day21

Really warm today, but still did 150 sit ups!
Thanks once again to everybody that has donated so far!

Day 20

As it was day 20 of 24 I thought I would mark the occasion by doing 150 instead of 100 sit ups, just for shits and giggles!
Well I am not giggling now!
The last 20 felt like a knife in my guts, but they are done!!
Still time to donate, if I get some more donations, I will aim for 200 on Friday!

Day 19

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s out there!
Today’s 100 all done, time for Sunday dinner and a whisky, a present from my daughters!
Still time to donate, as I still have five days of pain to go through!

Day 18

Lovely day today. Busy doing stuff, got home, halfway down the first beer and remembered that I had not done the sit ups, so a quick change and 100 sit ups done and now back to the beer!
Thanks to everybody who has donated so far.
6 days left, so lots of pain to go, if anybody else wants to donate!

Day 17

Completed after a hard days decorating!
In some ways I am going to miss doing these sit ups!
Thanks to everyone who has donated so far!

Day 16

Late doing them again today (around 9 pm), but got through them eventually.
Just over a week left of the challenge.
Thanks to everybody who has donated so far, hopefully the money raised will help with research into finding a cure for this cancer

Day 15

Tried different variations of sit ups today (legs flat instead of knees bent!), discovered they were just as hard!
Thanks to all who have donated so far!

Day 14

Wow, two weeks into the 24 days, only 10 days left!
Did them around 9 pm tonight as I was at work today, and was going very well, ( 47 reps!) until our 55 kg dog decided to come and investigate what I was doing!
Susan managed to get her off me and bribe her with treats, until I could get finished!

Day 13

At work today, so unable to do them until tea time.
Tough after a day at work but my form, (if not my fitness lol) Is definitely getting better.
I seem to have reached my target for fundraising today (which I am over the moon about!), but want to raise as much money as possible.
Thanks to everybody who has donated so far!

Day 12

Done by teatime. Getting quicker every day, lactic acid isn’t going away though, so still painful to complete.
12 more days left!
Thank you to everybody who has donated so far.

Day 11

Definitely getting easier, did them quite quickly.
Thanks to everyone who has donated

Day 10

70 without stopping again.
Definitely getting easier and quicker I’m glad to say.
Hopefully by day 24 banding out the whole hundred without stopping!

Day 9

Yesterday’s blog seems to have disappeared.70 without stopping!
Getting there I suppose, definitely easier doing them earlier. Thanks to everybody who has donated So far!

Day 8

Late doing them again today, as I was at work all day.
Probably one of the hardest days so far, it took me ages.
Never mind, onwards!
Thanks to everybody who is donating to help this fat lad raise some money Into research of this terrible cancer.

Day 7

Finally getting less painful!
Did them early today, and it made a big difference.
My daughter thinks I have lost weight, but I dong think so lol.
Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, over halfway to target!!!

Day six

Still not getting easier, (though my form is getting much better).
Left them late again as have had a full on day fixing a leak in the bathroom.
Now relaxing with a Guinness!
Received my T-shirt from the charity today and it fits!

Day 5

Still not getting any easier, perhaps slightly quicker though!
Left them late again, around 9.30 pm.
Please donate if you can and help this fat lad raise some money for a good cause.

Day 4

Still not getting any easier, first 50 are ok, then grind to a halt, and have to work very hard to get through them.
Determined to keep going though.
Please consider donating if you are able.

Day three

At work today, then a zoom meeting, couple of beers, then I remembered o had 100 sit ups to do!
First 50 no problem, second 50 very slow, but never mind, they got done!

Day Two

Much harder than yesterday’s, lactic acid, I suppose.
I also didn’t do them until after 9 pm, big mistake lol.
Thanks to everybody who has donated already to this great cause.

Thank you to my Sponsors
