In memory of Jacek Bondara

This September, I'm walking 84km for the 84 people who die from pancreatic cancer every 3 days in the UK. How many more across the world?

I will walk these steps in memory and tribute to Jacek Bondara, whose strength and life was devoted to the care of others in the trouble he recognised and overcame.

A year ago we didn't know a great deal about pancreatic cancer, now we know too much.

We miss our Dad every day.

My Tribute Post

In Loving Memory of Jacek BondaraWelcome to this tribute page dedicated to the life, strength, and legacy of Jacek Bondara—a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. This page is created in his honor to support pancreatic cancer research, turning our loss into hope for others. Our dad was a man of extraordinary perseverance. Truly, we know no one who possessed a stronger will than him. He was a fighter through and through; he faced his own deepest personal battles with incredible courage, choosing a path of lasting strength and staying true to his journey for 17 remarkable years. Throughout his life, he proved that change is possible, that we can learn from our mistakes, and that we must always believe in a better tomorrow. He brought that same immense motivation and refusal to give up to every difficult moment he faced. He was always the life of the party, but he was equally dedicated to the quiet work of caring for others. Jacek helped countless people find a new path in life by actively offering his support—organising pilgrimages to Zakroczym, participating in support groups, and always being ready to guide those walking a similar road. For us, his children, he was a deeply committed parent. We could always count on him; he always asked how we were doing, knew our friends, and supported our interests. It brings us great comfort to know how frequently he spoke of us and how deeply proud he was of his family.Jacek Bondara leaves behind a lasting footprint in the hearts of many. The finest way we can honor his memory is to live life to the fullest, to support one another, and to fight for a future free from pancreatic cancer. We miss you everyday.

What lovely words to capture an equally lovely man. I’m only sorry I never quite got to meet your Dad, Mon. But I know we’d have shared so much. What you’re doing in his memory is a wonderful thing. He would be so proud.
