MOVE FOR MUM – THE 500K PROJECT!

I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

MOVE FOR MUM - THE 500K PROJECT!

Every year, over 500,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer worldwide. That’s roughly one diagnosis every minute. But this doesn’t just affect 500,000 people, it impacts over 5 million people, including family, friends, and loved ones, overnight. This is one of those families.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers. Around 80% of people are diagnosed too late for surgery, and lives can change in a matter of weeks. It’s fast, it’s brutal, and it’s often silent.

75% of people can’t name a single symptom of pancreatic cancer. By the time many people realise something is wrong, it’s already too late.

Earlier this year we were enjoying our lives on the beaches of Sydney, Australia when we got the call that mum had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer - so here we are back in the village and putting our energy into something productive for this cause!

This event is for my mum, and for every family going through the same thing.

THE EVENT

We’re taking on 500,000 metres across 4 Rogue Echo Bikes and 4 Rogue rowers and we need your help!

📅 Saturday 20th June
⏰ 10:00am – 4:00pm

📍 NOMADS TRAINING CLUB
Barns Ct, Copthorne, Crawley RH10 4HQ

Each metre represents one person diagnosed this year. This isn’t just a workout, it’s a way to raise awareness, bring people together, and do something when so much feels out of our control.

All fitness levels are welcome, whether you want to push hard or just get involved, it all counts. Bring your friends, your family, your kids, even the dog - everyone is welcome.

Come down, chip in some metres, or just show your support.

We’ve had some incredible support from local businesses in the community who have donated prizes and helped bring this event to life.

There will be a coffee van, homemade protein bar stand, drinks and more to keep you fuelled and hydrated for the day!

We’ll be running mini challenges and giveaways throughout the day, so come down, get involved, and be part of it.

Whether you donate, share this page, or come down and support, you’re helping make a difference. Every contribution goes towards supporting pancreatic cancer awareness, research for earlier diagnosis and treatment options, and all those affected.

500,000 diagnoses. Over 5 million people affected. We’re moving for every single one.

Thank you for being part of this 💜

Hi Mel I’m sorry I can’t join you as I’m away. My best friend died of pancreatic cancer at 52 after an 18 month battle. She left behind her husband and 3 teenagers. She had no real symptoms until she had jaundice & by then it was too late to operate. Good luck for the 20th June x
