I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Pancreatic cancer has touched our family in different ways. My Dad was only 15 when he lost  his Dad to this terrible illness just a week after being diagnosed. 

Unfortunately it’s raised it’s ugly head for a different loved one. It was something I didn’t know much about until my boyfriend’s mum, Sally, was diagnosed last year and I still don’t know a lot, other than it is tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. Sally has been a warrior through it all giving as good as she’s getting and I think it’s safe to say along with other support ‘Pancreatic Cancer UK’  have given personalised support to her.  When she was struggling to cope with the effects of chemotherapy they were at the end of the phone offering practical advice, when she was finding it hard to eat enough calories they offered online courses with a trained nutritionist and when she was reaching the end of the road with treatment they were there again providing detailed information about clinical trials. Pancreatic Cancer UK is also supporting extensive research in effective treatment for Pancreatic Cancer and to create a test for early diagnosis.

My aim was to raise money and awareness of pancreatic cancer Uk and the vital work they do to help people get through an awful experience.

Thank you to my mum who challenged herself into staying up all night and providing drinks and snacks ! She’s amazing and I couldn’t have done it without you x

What exactly is the challenge ?

The challenge I will be doing is continually walking the circular route of Mam Tor Edale to Edale for 24hour stopping only for snacks and a quick toilet break. 

Friends and family are welcome to join for a lap (socially distance and in line with movement guideline at the time of challenge) 

Any donations or shares to spread the word and raise vital funds for pancreatic cancer UK would be greatly appreciated.
