I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

My dad died from Pancreatic Cancer when he was Thirtyeight years old. I was a nine-year-old boy, with a brother who was two years older, and my dad left my mum without her sole mate and a lifetime together. As well as my dads mum lost her son.

50% of people diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer die within 3months and we need to solve this so that 24 people each day do not need to die and leave behind their dreams and loved ones.

So for this reason, I am raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK awareness month and would appreciate any support.

In terms of the challenge, it will be a big challenge for me and it’s going to get real tough and dark at times. what I will keep at the front of my mind, is it’s nothing compared to the people we have all lost to pancreatic cancer, or still supporting. What will keep me going will be all the stories I’ve been connected to on this group and what we all are trying to achieve.

My donations could fund...

45 hours with a nurse on our Support Line

or

20 hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

Was it worth it?

What it worth it?

One hundred miles on a treadmill was the most challenging thing I've ever done, mentally and physically.

Forty miles in, with deep aching hip and groin pain, sores and not even being halfway.

Repetitive movement on a treadmill with no variation of stride foot placement.

Sitting down for food, getting back up stiff, aching, and barely able to walk, then getting back on the treadmill and going through the 3- 5 min process to get moving again in a garage where it's -3 outside.

Approaching midnight, having run 60 miles, I know I have another 40 miles still to go, and I am in the most pain and suffering.

At 1 am, I could not have any lights or TV on, so I turned everything bright off and watched a treadmill countdown of dots for 6-7 hours.

Micro sleeping through tiredness, trying not to come off the treadmill, but finding yourself waking up from holding on to the handrails.

THE ACHIEVEMENT to finish what seemed impossible became possible and was supported by friends and family to smash fundraising targets for Pancreatic Cancer.

I feel like my version of super huam!

So, was it worth it.. yes!

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORT! Here is the documented video

Broken but happy

Broken.

100 miles on a treadmill in 22hrs:54mins.

The toughest thing ive done. I wanted to quit at mile 40. But didn’t and pushed through.

🍕12,313 calories burnt and eaten
😴 no sleep from 10am to 10am
🥶 every time I sat down, my body shut down and shivered, making me have to start the run in a coat. It was not pleasant being in a garage for 23hrs at -3.

💙 smashed target 🎯 for Pancreatic Cancer UK. 🙏 big love to all you inspiring and generous supporters who donated, or simply backed me with positive encouragement.

Thanks to Courtney Evans for letting me do these big crazy fundraising challenges during work. It’s important to always embrace the fundraising experience to keep up to date.

Pancreatic Cancer UK awareness month ends today and they smashed their income target too!! 🚀 I loved being on their Facebook group. So inspiring.

How Treadmill Zwift running will work

Remembering our last holiday

My mum and dad knew this was their last holiday together. My brother and I did not know.

Long Windy Run

A back to back long easy run after Saturday 14mile treadmill run.

I am feeling really comfortable now on these back to back runs which is encouraging.

Long Run done on the treadmill

Out on the forest trails

18milers in the local forest. This stream jump was a big deal for me with being old and stiff!

13MILES done on the treadmill

It was raining so decided to get into Zwift for a half marathon through the streets of London. It was nice to pass tower bridge which is half way on the “Real” marathon course 🚀💂‍♂️
