My Updates

Day 22, 23, 24

💜💜💜
On Saturday my family helped me complete the last 3 days of my challenge 24 for Pancreatic Cancer.
I’m am so grateful to everyone that has supported me and donated to pancreatic cancer.
As you are all probably aware we lost my mum on Tuesday to pancreatic cancer.
This has been a very tough and emotional time for all the family and we have been overwhelmed by all the support we have been given.
From the bottom of Roseberry Topping - National Trust to top and back down again was 2.19 miles with the 9 of us and Bella the dog we walked 21.9 miles and over 60000 steps.

Day 21 of 24

Day 21 of 24 of my Pancreatic Cancer UK take on 24 challenge.
A later start today as I needed a special attachment to pump the tyres up on my brother’s bike 🚲.
Little bit of a different route today no seafront as it’s a bit chilly I didn’t fancy cycling along the seafront as it might be a little bit colder.
Today’s little route was up to the rose mere park through the park, along catcote road down Oxford road and home again.
I cycled today 4.43 miles. 🚴🏻‍♀️
Once again I want to thank everyone who has supported me and helped raise money for one of the hardest cancers to diagnose.

Day 20 of 24

Day 20 of 24 of my Pancreatic Cancer UK take on challenge 24 to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.
A little windy 🌬 and a little wet today.
Today I cycled 🚴 4.682 miles of the 130 miles I set myself as a goal.
In total I have now done 118miles I have 12 miles left to do in 4 days.
No pictures taken today until I got home as I was watching the clouds ☁️ as at times it got a little dark and I didn’t want to get caught in the rain 🌧.
I was home all of two minutes maybe and it started chucking it down.
Again I want to THANK everyone that has supported me in this challenge and help me raise money for a cause that is in all my families hearts 💜.
There is still time to donate on the link below

Day 19 of 24

Day 19 of 24
Bit of a windy autumnal day today 🍂🍁🍃
4.5 miles to added to the 109 already completed.
As we are in lockdown 2.0 there seemed to be a lot of people around.
On my bike ride along the seafront I actually saw people swimming 🏊‍♀️ in the North Sea 🌊 I wonder if it was cold then a little bit further along the sea from there’s a family taking photos of someone surfing 🏄‍♀️ and clapping.
Right now making sure I complete my @pancreaticcanuk challenge is a way of coping knowing that the money raised by all you lovely people could help another family in the future.
So thank you for all the support and donations given.
💜

Day 18 of 24

Day 18 of 24 of Pancreatic Cancer UK take on 24 challenge.
It’s such a lovely autumnal day again 🍂. Wasn’t very cold either.
Almost 4 miles today which brings me up to 109 miles and that means I have 21 miles left to do by next Thursday which is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day 💜💜.
On my cycle today I bumped into a lady who lost her dad to pancreatic cancer a few years ago and it was so nice to hear someone’s else story and how they managed and she said she was it was nice to see what I was doing as you don’t see a lot about this type of cancer.
Also the bus driver that wasn’t my dad Chris at 9:45 coming out of warrior park that smiled and waved at me thank you for your support.
I’m entirely grateful for everyone that supported me on my journey.

Day 17 of 24

Today is 17 of 24 of Pancreatic Cancer UK Take on challenge 24.
It’s such a lovely autumnal day. Not to cold either.
I’m back on the bike today as lockdown 2.0 starts. I have 8 days to complete 29 miles this means 3.63 for 8 days.
So until today I had completed 101
Miles over 16 days, today in 28 minutes along the seafront and home again I completed 6.49km which in miles is 4.033 this brings me up to 105 miles.
I want to thank everyone that has help me raise money to something that is so close to my families hearts right now 💜💜

Day 16 of 24

It’s been a while since I’ve posted.
Day 16 of 24 complete.
Just over a month ago I went to give blood and ended up not being allowed to to having low iron and low b12 after three weeks of b12 injections that made me feel like I’d been hit by a truck at times.
So today I got back on the bike as I feel 100% better than I did.
I cycled the long way to the seafront up what felt like a mountain to cycle up then along the seafront. When cycling along the seafront lots of people walking their dogs along the beach, a few other cyclists and some people jogging.
Then along past Tesco and home again.
11.53 km into miles is 7.16
I’m so grateful that people are still continuing to donate to such an amazing cause.

Little update

I have a little life update as I’ve hit a bump in the road.
So I’m still doing my challenge a couple of weeks ago I went to give blood and was turned away as I had low iron and I was sent for some blood test.
After my results came back not only do I have low iron I have a b12 deficiency and now I have a three week course of injections so I will attempt to continue on my less tired days.
I’m so grateful to everyone that has supported my journey x

Day 15 of 24

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝕗𝕚𝕗𝕥𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣
So it rained all night and was very drizzly this morning so I didn’t go for a walk or bike ride as the roads are very wet and didn’t want to get soaked off the spray from other vehicles on the road.
So I asked my niece if I could use her bike/cross trainer (thank you Jadene) in just under half an hour while talking and watching once upon a time I completed 6 miles and OMG I don’t think I’ve ever sweat so much 😂😂.
Thank you everyone who has supported such a great cause.

Day 14 of 24

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝔽𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕥𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣
Today I opted for a walk/jog/run. I haven’t really done any running since I was at school at that was over 15 years ago 🙈.
I did the usual route along to the seafront and back home but tonight it was like I was following the sunset. It’s a very pretty evening for a nice walk even some people kayaking/canoeing in the North Sea.
I got a few random looks as I didn’t have a jacket on I just had my T-shirt on.
Tonight I walked a little further than Sunday and I was twenty minutes faster than Sunday.
Once again I want to thank everyone for there support and donations.

Day 13

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕥𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕠𝕗 𝕋𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣
Once again I am entirely grateful for those who have donated to something that is very close to my family’s hearts 💜. Total raised online and offline is roughly £980 and miles completed are 74
Today there are no pictures from along the way as it’s quite windy 🌬 and I wanted to get back before it’s rains 🌧.
As it’s windy I avoided the sea front and just headed for roads that I knew would be quiet 🤫.
Today I cycled 5.41 miles my route map looks a little like the steak emoji 🥩.
Roads were not every busy I was expecting to see my dad drive past on the bus and beep at me but I didn’t see him today.
I was a bit warm and wind swept when I got back.

Day 12

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝕥𝕨𝕖𝕝𝕧𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣
I’m half way there twelve more days to go.
Today’s cycle was 8.83km which is 5.48m
Slightly different route today it kinda looks like an elephant 🐘 if you turn the route map sideways.
A couple of weeks ago I attempted to cycle up a hill but I struggled one because of the wind and too I just couldn’t do it so today I attempted and I concored it. I didn’t head for the beach today as it’s nice and sunny I just assumed it would be very busy. So instead I headed for the same route I did a few weeks ago with my friend. I went up to Summer hill country park on to the public footpath that brings you out to ward Jackson park round the park and then headed back home through burn valley gardens and home again.
So far with online and offline donations I currently have raised £970 I’m so grateful to you all that have supported me and donated to such a good cause. 💜💜

Day 11

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝔼𝕝𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕟 𝕠𝕗 𝕋𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪 𝔽𝕠𝕦𝕣
Today I left it till early evening to go for my 5 mile walk and today I had my fiancé come with me.
So we left his and as we know that walking to the seafront and along the seafront and back to his.
We walked 5.19 miles in 1h45m. It was such a lovely walk the sun is shining it’s a little windy. Lots of people out and about enjoying the sunshine.
Once again I am so grateful for all your support in something that is so close to my family right now. 💜💜

Day 10

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝕋𝕖𝕟 𝕠𝕗 𝕋𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪 𝔽𝕠𝕦𝕣
After taking thursday and friday as two days rest as I felt exhausted as I currently have low iron level this morning im back for day TEN.
I have cycled 9.91km which is just over 6 miles. I started at home about half an hour after the sun rose I headed for seaton then along to the marina up past asda then along to tesco and back home again.
It was so peaceful hardly anyone around other than other people walking their dogs a man walking along the beach with his metal dector hope he found some treasure and some others doing their morning exercise.
Today I am wearing my Pancreatic Cancer UK Tshirt.
Again thank you everyone that have donated so far I am VERY VERY grateful. 💜💜💜
Currently sitting at 57.4 miles out of my 120 miles so I am almost half way there

Day 9

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣
Thank you everyone that has donated so far with online and offline donations I currently have £961 I am so grateful to everyone that has helped me on my journey to support Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Today I stole my not so little brother bike and cycled 9.25km which is 5.74 miles which in the last nine days I have cycled 51.3 miles.
Little breezy out there but its lovely and sunny.
Today I cycled from my mum and dads past tesco along the seafrom and back home again today it took me 36 minutes to do 5.74 miles.

Day 8

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝕖𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣
Another windy bike ride once again I forgot to start the work out on my Apple Watch so my watch recorded 9.93km which works out as 6.17 miles but the second picture from the app foot print shows what I missed which is 0.39 miles which altogether is 6.56 miles.
If you zoom on the forth picture which shows my cycle route you will see I got lost 🤦🏻‍♀️😂. Once I figured my way out I headed home as it was getting darker and looked like it was going to rain.
Now after a lovely soak in the bath I’m refreshed and read for day nine.
Thank you again everyone that has sponsored me for a cause that is in all my family’s hearts 💜.

Day 7

Day seven of twenty four.

Just a little 6 mile bike ride it’s a very similar route to Saturday’s.
Headed towards the power station then along the very very quiet seafront, you can tell that the weather isn’t great and schools are back with how quiet it was. Then continued down the seafront lots of people either walking their dogs or going for a peaceful run. Then headed home.
Now time to relax in the bath before going to give blood for the tenth time.
Ready for tomorrow day eight

Thank you for all your support and sponsors in this pandemic a lot of charities have suffered so please if you can even if it’s 50p support such a great cause.

Day 6 and a half

Today should be day seven of twenty four.
Today I’m having a day of rest we’ll kind of as I didn’t finish work till 1am and then back in at 2pm this afternoon. I’m counting today as day six and a half I will be back on the bike or walk tomorrow I’m just not sure my body is used to all this exercise. I’m sore in places that I didn’t even know existed.
I did actually contemplated walking to work as it 4.6miles but I don’t think I would of then lasted at work on my feet for eight hours.
So tomorrow is day seven not day eight.
Hopefully a long soak in the bath after work will help relax my muscles ready for tomorrow.

Day 6

Day six of twenty four of challenge 24 for pancreatic cancer.

After five days of biking my bottom is a little sore of the seat so today I decided to go for a 5 mile walk instead.
At first I used Footpath App to track where I was going to walk and it was going to be to the town centre to pick up a few bits from primark but as i got to the end of the road where I would turn left to head to the town I realised I had forgot my mask so instead I went right and headed toward Hartlepool Power station then along to the sea front the little gap in the map is where I had to take my shoes and socks off to get rid of all the little stones and dried up grass out of my shoes and off my feet. I then headed towards the sea front stopped Gelato jojo hatch for a diet coke and continued my walk up past the fish shops which at 12:20 already had a queue then up to seaton train station then along to brenda road where I stopped and stood to wave at my dad (yes I'm Five years old) as he drove past me on the bus. Then to finish off my five miles I walked the long way home.

Day 5

Day five of twenty four of challenge 24 for pancreatic cancer.
Today I completed just over my 5 mile goal.
It was a bit windy so I just cycled away from the wind hence why the route doesn’t look straight down this road and straight over that road.
I started at my future in-laws as that’s where the bike is. I headed towards Tesco then towards the marina round the marina and back home again.

Day 4

Day four of twenty four.
Thank you Toni Dees for coming with me on my 5mile bike ride we actually done 6 miles today.
Today we started half way between where we both live (farm foods) headed for summer hill park then followed a cycle path to Ward Jackson park and along the way there was some horses in a field. Once we got to Ward Jackson park we cycled round the duck pond then stopped off at the cafe for a drink. I paused my watch here and when we set off again I for got to set it off again and realised 0.4 miles later. We then headed towards the town center but went on the quieter streets behind to avoid the traffic we then headed for burn valley park and the family woods to head back to where we started then once’s back at farm foods I cycled back to my parent in laws house.
Again I want to thank everyone that has sponsor me in my challenge 24, which is 24 days of running, walking or cycling for pancreatic cancer.

Day 3

Today I was at work from 6am till 2:30pm. I done around 8700 steps at work came home and straight on my bike ride for day three.
Today I thought I would attempt to go a different way but my legs just wouldn’t take me up the hill so I decided to cycle a different way to the seafront and home again.
Omg today that wind was something else. Cycling into the wind was hard work.
I cycled 9.1 km which worked out at 5.65 miles I done this in 38 minutes.
But now days three complete bring on tomorrow.
Map and picture of the bike I’m using and the seafront are in the gallery

Day 2

Day two of twenty four.
Again I started off at the future parent-in-laws and back again.
I headed for the seafront again as it’s such a lovely day again, I will add a picture to the gallery of my route.
I didn’t get caught between any sign post poles today. Attacked my a few flies 🦟🦟 but none went in my mouth but I definitely need to learn to keep my mouth shut.
After two days the only thing that currently hurts is my rear end where the seat isn’t nice and soft but I shouldn’t complain as someone has lent me their bike.
I use the workout app on the Apple Watch to track how far I cycle, the Apple Watch measures in kilometres rather than miles.
Thank you for donating to such an amazing cause x

Day 1

This morning Monday 31st August I have completed my first 5 miles.
It was my first bike ride since passing my driving test seven years ago.
I’m proud of myself for not falling off or crashing into anything although I did misjudge the space between the poles of a signpost and knock my thumb and get my foot stuck it the pedal 😂🤦🏻‍♀️.
I cycled from my fiancé’s parents house to the seafront and back again which worked out on my Apple Watch as 8.46km which is 5.25miles and I completed that in 37 minutes.
I’m ready for day two

130miles

From Monday I will attempt to walk, run or cycle 5 miles everyday for 24 days.  This mainly depends on the weather to which one I decide to do.
My aim is to raise £1000 for pancreatic cancer.
I will use my Apple Watch to track where I Walk, Cycle or Run.
I will be doing 120 miles in 24 days the reason its set at 130 as I connected my Fitbit to this it was tracking everything and I only want to take the extra 5 Miles I will be doing everyday for the next 24 days. So my fitbit counted and extra 10 miles.
Please help me raise my target for something so close to my heart
