I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Pancreatic cancer is tough – tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. And, in the uncertain times we’re currently experiencing, things have become even tougher for people with pancreatic cancer.
I’m Standing Out to raise money for this vital cause because I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 6 years ago. Fortunately my tumour was discovered in time for surgery to be possible. Without that surgery I would not be here today. I was lucky. For far too many people, their tumour is discovered too late.
So on World Pancreatic Cancer Day, November 18th, I am having my hair and beard dyed purple. Please support me and my fundraising. Together we can make a difference and fund life-saving research.
My donations could fund...
24 hours with a nurse on our Support Line
or
11 hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates
Week Six
Well the deed is done. Due to availability of Katey Morgan, the hairdressers who kindly did the job free of charge plus made a donation, and the photographer from the local paper, the makeover took place on 16th November.John Chadderton £5
Maggie Casling £5
Week Five
I didn't add anything to the blog last week as donations had pretty much come to a halt. This week though all that has changed. An ex neighbour, Kirsty Wilson, shared my Purple Makeover page with her Facebook friends and the donations came flying in. So, with still one week to go, I have now passed my target. Fingers crossed that the total will continue to climb. Share
Week Three
Wow, so that's 3 weeks now and I am well on the way to hitting my target. Not counting additional money as a result of gift aid, I have just over £100 now to go.
Week Two
Now at the end of the second week and the response continues to amaze me. My makeover is now going to take place the day before, so Wednesday 17th. This is because I am taking part in a live webinar on 18th being hosted by The Cambridge Pancreatic Cancer Centre. I am a patient representative on their management board and they want me to have morphed into my purple alter ego when online.
Week One
It's now a week since I set the fundraising page up and the support received so far is really pleasing. Thank you to all that have donated.Thank you to my Sponsors
