This September, I'm walking 84km for the 84 people who die from pancreatic cancer every 3 days in the UK.
Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK.
Right now, 31 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day in the UK.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 84km remember those we've lost, and stand with those affected by pancreatic cancer.

Day at sea
Just as well we are at sea all day. I have a horrible cold and feel rough but then I remember why I’ve said I will walk 3km over and above my normal walking. Those who have pancreatic cancer or who have sadly died, will feel a lot worse than me. Tomorrow is a new day 🦠🤧 Share

Well the deck is warm this morning. I’m moving fast having started by going from deck 8 to deck 3, walking round almost 6 laps then running up stairs to get back to the room and a cool shower. 🚿

Deck 3 much better. Great watching the port waking up for the day. I love the change of activity depending on where I am on my laps! Today we will definitely do less walking in total. Never would I have expected to be able to do this holiday, 40 years ago as a young mum with 2 amazing children to bring up. Living in the moment and being thankful for small things is such good advice when you are hurting 😢 Share

Well today is day 1 of our great adventure. Blessed to be able to go on a Mediterranean cruise 🚢. Would I manage my walking having got up at 3.50am. Delayed in Heathrow so off I go round the perimeter of terminal 5, B gates! It’s about .5km all the way round. Dodged in and out of people and succeeded in covering my 3km extra walking whilst Gavin read 📖 Share
Sunlight 🌅
This morning I was pondering how beautiful the light is at this time of year. There was a low sun, shining through the tree trunks, as I walked by the ponds. As I turned to go up the road, the light became clear with no obstructions. Is this sometimes what our lives can feel like? The joy is that we can generally look for the clarity and remember others who are struggling with obstructions 🙏🏻 Share

Sometimes life is so much harder than we expect it to be. This has been made more clear over these past 2 months when seeing the pain of others who have been affected by the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
