Jenny has passed away but her fundraising initiatives continue...

By Jenny Oldfield

Jenny Oldfield 1965 - 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jenny Oldfield. A beautiful human being and kind soul who passed away on Tuesday 18th of April at 6.15am. She will be greatly missed by us all.

The funeral is at Milton Chapel, Chilterns Crematorium on the 19th of May 2023 at 1.00pm

To watch Jenny tell her own story:

Jenny did incredible work raising money in the two years since her Pancreatic diagnosis and her family and friends are keen that the fundraising not end there.  Jenny's fundraising initiatives will continue, so that others can benefit. We hope you agree and continue to support the fundraising ventures started by Jenny.

A personal appeal:

After 19 months of successful chemo, Jenny finally succumbed and she passed away in hospital . As part of her legacy we would like your fundraising efforts to continue . The response to Jenny's plight and her fundraising exploits have been amazing (70k raised so far!)

She was determined that other people should not have to suffer the same the same terminal diagnosis and would  be very proud to know that you were continuing to raise funds.

Thank you so much for your efforts so far ,which have been fantastic!

In memory of Jenny x

Updated 5/1/22

In a nutshell:

👉 I have terminal pancreatic cancer with a prognosis of 2 years to live (at most) from my diagnosis date (May 2021)

👉  I had no symptoms and was told on my first visit to the consultant that there was no cure

👉 Funding is needed by Pancreatic Cancer UK to continue the breakthrough research into an early diagnosis to prevent deaths

👉 This can easily happen to someone else you know (and hopefully not!)

It is for this reason I am asking for your help so no-one faces what I have had to.

See the updates for more details on the fundraising campaign or contact me and I would be delighted to help you organise something.

A massive thank you in anticipation.

Jen xx

**If you want to set up your own fundraising page either here with Pancreatic Cancer UK or with Just Giving (for example) then just let me know and the great fundraising support team at Pancreatic Cancer UK will add your total to my page** Thank you 😍😘 Superstar fundraisers 🤗🤩🥰

My donations could fund...

2,773 hours with a nurse on our Support Line

or

1,243 hours of early diagnosis research

This is it - 2023

I have been approached this year, by more fundraiser friends to help raise funds for @PancreaticCancerUK and to help me raise awareness of the unforgiving disease that Pancreatic Cancer is. If found at stage 4 it kills you – and quickly

Thanks to your generosity, during the 77 ways campaign last year, we all raised over £58k for PCUK

But this year fundraisers are going to to do their thing, their “IT” (what ever their “IT” is) to help me raise more funds for @PancreaticCancerUK and pancreatic cancer awareness in 2023

Many are holding fun team building events within their workplace and will be posting out their activities and successes which I am very much looking forward to seeing virtually. Thank you to all those who already have their events in mind or organised

£5.02k raised by the Ronnie Wood signed Guitar

Many thanks to Jim Aitken for his generous bid for the guitar. It will be winging it's way to Glasgow very soon. Thank you again - myself and the charity are blown away by your generosity! Jen x

LAST DAY OF BIDS FOR THE PURPLE GUITAR

At the Turnaround Management Association UK conference raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Today, World Pancreatic Cancer Day, is the LAST DAY to bid for this wonderful guitar, personally signed by Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones.

#fundraising #WorldPancreaticCancerDay

Only 24 hours to go...............

WOW WOW WOW

I am blown away by your generosity!
We are over £40k funds raised.
I really love you all and cannot thank you enough.
Jen x

WE GOT TO £25K - WOW!!

Hi you lovely sponsors - you have got my total to £25k so I have rather cheekily raised it to £30k because I think we can collectively achieve that by the end of the summer. The sun is shining, life is great and it's school holidays ............ what more could we ask for 😎?? Pancreatic Cancer UK still needs us (as do I) so let's keep fundraising (oh and I can't wait to tell you the 77 things I have planned 🤣)

FLOWTECH FLUIDPOWER launch their *7 Wonderful Ways* Fundraising Campaign

The fabulous team at Flowtech Fluidpower have pulled out all the stops to devise varied and entertaining (and wonderful!) ways to achieve something relating to the number 7.
If you are donating to support their excellent efforts - please mention them when you donate here. Thank you x

We are on our way to £20k - a massive thank you xx

Over the coming weeks (when I stop trying to cram the bucket list in at the same time as fundraising 🙄) I will post the fabulous events that have been taking place here. There has been such good support I am very grateful x

What does your contribution help to buy?

I have changed the target to £7k but we have already exceeded that!! Look what we can buy now.....

A big thank you to all involved in the magic 7 mile walk x

THE CAMPAIGN HAS STARTED - 4th February 2022

The ‘77 Ways' campaign has started and what great results all those runs and walks have generated so far. And there are lots of exciting events to come. I am both humbled and grateful for everything you are doing.

If you haven't yet - I would love you to get involved

There are so many ways that you can make a real difference. After all, ‘77 Ways' gives you loads of scope for fun fundraising events to help raise much-needed funds for Pancreatic Cancer U

You could travel a distance, travel through an era or travel through an experience.

Your support could help Pancreatic Cancer UK get closer to a breakthrough in early diagnosis and put a spotlight on the disease.

Please see a few more suggestions below as to how you can participate. The only limit is your imagination! Let's see how much noise and money we can raise before the final tally up date just after 7th of July 2022?

Remember, it’s not just about the money, not enough people know about pancreatic cancer and what it does if it’s diagnosed late – what we’re doing is helping raise awareness.

So, please send me your photo's to share here, so we can create a buzz and make a real difference!

*Here are just a few of the amazing events that people have organised so far:

Together we can transform the future for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer.

I would like to thank you for any support you can give me to help make a difference in ensuring early diagnosis and cure of pancreatic cancer.

With all best wishes and a massive thanks in anticipation,

I read your story in Berkhamsted News and was inspired by your fundraising. My lovely Dad died in 2020 at St Francis, just 5 weeks after his shock pancreatic cancer diagnosis. May that never happen to anyone else. Love and peace x
