I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Pancreatic cancer is tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. Please support me and help make a difference to pancreatic cancer.

A dear friend recently passed away from this cruel disease, within 4 months of diagnosis. Her well-deserved retirement and precious time with family and friends has been cut short. She loved her garden, to travel and pursue her hobbies, including working tapestries and embroidery. She will be greatly missed by many.

My donations could fund...

16 hours with a nurse on our Support Line

or

7 hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

I’ve done it!

The coldest run yet with frost/snow overnight and a bitterly cold wind.
Donned my Christmas leggings and ran for 24 minutes continuously, having warmed up by taking the dogs out for their walks first.
Another 1.6 miles to bring the total to 25.1 miles.
A sincere thank you to all have supported and encouraged me. Having not run since June I wasn’t sure I could complete this, especially in the colder weather, but you helped me achieve this. ❤️

First wet run this month

Managed to dodge most, but not all of the rain, but another 2.2 miles to add to the total.
Whatever discomfort I’ve felt over the last 4 weeks- rain, wind, cold, aches and pains, it is nothing compared to the pain and suffering any cancer sufferer goes through, and especially someone with pancreatic cancer.
Please support this charity, or any cancer charity when you can, and enjoy the little things every single day. xx

Nearly there …

Lovely run out in the sunshine just before lunch - another’s 2.2 miles to add to the total, which now stands at 21.3 miles.
Thank you so much for your precious donations- we will make a difference! 💕

Two runs this week after a restful weekend

After a few hectic days I had a break from running; family and friends, including Joy’s sons David and Steve, popped in on Saturday and Robert and I had a day trip to the Christmas Spectacular at Thursford on Monday.
Donned my running shoes again on Tuesday to cover 2 miles and again today (Thursday) to run 2.5 miles before breakfast; total now stands at 19.1 miles … the goal is in sight! ☺️👍😀

A run in 2 parts

Today I added another 3 miles to my total so am now half-way! 😀👍

I had to take my car for repair to the front grille after a pheasant decided to collide with it, knocking one of the front parking sensors out. Very thankful a headlamp wasn’t damaged though.

So I ran home from the garage in bright sunshine, but was emotional when Westlife’s ‘I’ll see you again’ came up on my playlist.

By mid-afternoon an extra layer of clothing was needed as the sun had disappeared for my run back to fetch the car.

Thank you to those of you that have already donated; it really is appreciated. 💕

Sunday run - with Emma

I was joined today by Emma, a friend and fitness instructor, who is recovering from long Covid. It was lovely to have company and use a different route. 💕
We used the local Parkrun course, though didn’t exactly follow their route as we wanted to avoid as much mud as possible!
So, just over 5k or 3.16 miles, completed today so, pardon the pun, the running total is now just over 9 miles. To say I’m chuffed is an understatement!

Progress made!

So I’ve now completed 2 more runs this week; 2 miles then 2.5 miles. I’ve taken it steady - was never built for speed 😉 - but besides increasing the distances, I’m hoping to set a faster pace by the end of the month. 🤞🏻

Many thanks to those that have faith in me and have sponsored me so far. I’ve raised over half of my goal amount and run a quarter of the distance … hopefully there’s more to come on both counts. 💕

First run done!

After 3 months without running today I donned my Tikiboos and running shoes and managed just over 1.5 miles. I intend to build the distance up gradually and, hopefully,  by the end of the month I’ll be running 3 miles at a time. 🤞🏻

Thank you to my Sponsors
