Not to die in vain…but to die in hope.

Please help me to support Pancreatic Cancer UK in their continual endeavour to understand more about this vile cancer, to help research & save precious lives

This September I'm walking 100km for people who are diagnosed with &/or die from Pancreatic Cancer. It’s coming up to 5 years this December since my dad died of Pancreatic Cancer, from diagnosis to death was 7 months and he was 77…hence my target to raise £777…dads final months are still incomprehensible, words are not sufficient to describe & explain witnessing & being a hands on carer to someone dying of PC…life changing. Dad courageously donated his cells for medical research whilst he was still alive, I support PCUK monthly, but at this 5 year anniversary it’s appropriate to do more…

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK…all cancers are grim BUT this cancer is especially vile, watching a loved one / a friend / whoever, starve to death, is an experience I wish no one to ever have to experience…

Right now, 31 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day in the UK.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 100km to remember those we've lost, and stand with those affected by pancreatic cancer.

Walking to raise awareness & vital funds for the second time in honour & memory of dad who died Dec’21 of Pancreatic Cancer….discovered far too late for him, despite SO MANY signs & symptoms over the years…his biological mum also died of this vile disease at exactly the same age. During his many investigations / procedures and his month long hospitalisation dad agreed to donate cells for ongoing research through Lancaster University, he knew nothing could be done for him, but hoped his cells might go someway to understand Pancreatic Cancer further…he died in hope so we should live in hope today and look to a future where more is understood about Pancreatic Cancer and more lives are saved.
