My Dad passed away in August 2020 after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He was given a year and lasted well over double that, through pure strength and a desire to live. His diagnosis was too late for any effective treatment but the chemo worked well and prolonged his life. He grew up in Switzerland and loved to walk so this challenge is in memory to the place and hobby he loved. When my Dad was in the hospice at the end my Mum got diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer and managed to get out of hospital to see my Dad the day he died. She lived another year and gave us many lovely memories and urged both Emily and me on this adventure.
Together we can transform the future.

We've just finished our first week and we've been super lucky with the weather, but we've also been sweating buckets. We made a break through on day 4 but we've also realised we're carrying atleast 5kg more than anyone else attempting this challenge. We've made friends, nearly been bitten by snakes, and survived some mentally difficult hills and loooonnnng downhills.

Training weekend complete
A hardcore training weekend in Ross-on-Wye gave us some last-minute intel to our equipment and some wonderful views from Symonds Yat.
Firstly, the sleeping mats both epically failed, so at least we have a chance to buy new ones.
Regular snacks are necessary
A clean dry set of clothes to get cosy in the evening are essential.
Couscous is easy to cook with, but we needed more seasoning.
The mini kettle will be an important companion!
Coco the dog is a great training companion, never lacked energy on our 28km walk, but loved a nap at every stop.
