In memory of a very much missed Mum and Granny.

Support my challenge to fight for a world without pancreatic cancer

This September, I'm walking 225km in memory of my mum. Right now, 31 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day in the UK.

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK. Too often diagnosis is a death sentence and more research is urgently required to diagnose much earlier.

Day 21 of challenge

Golf today @ Broomieknowe. Pretty sunny and warm at times. 

Day 20 of challenge

Golf this afternoon to get the kms in. Unbelievably windy and a tad cold!

Day 19 of challenge

Early walk this morning on our last day in beautiful Quinta. Wanted to get the kms in before we leave for the airport. 

Day 18 of challenge

Slightly later walk today so got caught again in the hot sun 🥵. Walked to the Q and then up to Pinheiros Altos. 

Day 17 of challenge

Up early to get the kms in. Up to the Q roundabout and then up to the bottom of North Quinta course. Got back before the sun got hot! 

Day 16 of challenge

Allan’s birthday today so only a few kms today from Dos Passos to The Shack. Will pick up deficit over next couple of days. 

Day 15 of challenge

Long circuit around the Quinta estate starting with Avenue Ayrton Senna (Brazilian Racing Driver who lived here) via The Shack. Walk a challenge today as weather hit high 80’s. Ended up with heat stroke and swollen hands! However, another day done and 1/2 way there in number of days done and 50% of kms achieved. 

Day 14 of Challenge

As a result of no kms on Day 13, bigger day today. Walked to Pinheiros Altos and then a walk along the beach. Beautiful sunny day. 

Day 12 of challenge

Up early to avoid the heat but still walking in 28 degrees at 8am in the morning! Caught up on yesterday's shortfall, so back on target for daily kms. 

Day 11 of Challenge

Travelling day today so didn’t get quota of kms in. Big day tomorrow! 

Day 10 of challenge

Walk with Mo in sunny and then rainy conditions. Mo chose the route starting at Viewforth, along Water of Leith, Dean Village, West End and Haymarket. Another new route.

Day 9 of challenge

Started off with 9 holes of golf @ Turnhouse with Mel, dry needling on my glutes/SI, visit to see Aud and then balance of my daily walking challenge in the dark. Now sitting down with a beer and watching the US 🎾.

Day 8 of challenge

Walk with Allan along the canal and the Water of Leith, through Colinton Tunnel and back over Craiglockhart Hill. Windy but sunny. 

Day 7 of Challenge

Lovely day golfing in the wind, rain and sun at Crail 

Day 6 of challenge

Golf in windy and sunny conditions. 

Day 5 of challenge

Walk in Callendar Park with Marjorie, my Uni friend of nearly 40 years. Glorious day!

Day 4 of challenge

Golf today in rain and sun. 

Day 3 of challenge

No rain today. Joined today by Mo, my school friend of over 40 years!

Golf and walk combo today. All in the rain!
