Support my challenge to fight for a world without pancreatic cancer

This September, I'm walking 197km for the 197 people who die from pancreatic cancer every 7 days in the UK.
Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK.

 Right now, 31 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day in the UK.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 197km remember those we've lost, and stand with those affected by pancreatic cancer.  My wonderful sister was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2023. Incredibly her cancer was found early and she is now in remission. The strength and resilience she showed throughout her treatment and that she continues to show is my inspiration for this challenge.

The last day..

And here it is, the last day!! A beautiful day for walking and getting the last few miles done. Thank you to all you lovely people who have cheered me on and donated so generously! Shelley is proof that early detection of pancreatic cancer is possible and vital for a good outcome. You are amazing Shelley. Everyone thinks so!!! We need many, many more good stories like this. Trip to Chesterfield..

Shelley and I had a weekend in Chesterfield for the Queens Reading Room Festival on the Sunday. Managed to get a lot of km's walked (most of them getting lost in the maze at Chatsworth House!). Fantastic day meeting our two favourite authors Louise Penny and Jane Harper. 

Another lovely walk..

The plan was to do The Fox circular walk in Hermitage with no detours however we deviated from the route almost immediately! Had a lovely walk around Grimsbury Castle with a good friend and ended up at the garden centre for a much needed cup of tea.   

My challenge so far..

So I've ditched the bike in favour of walking to my jobs every day which is helping eat up the miles. (Though did have a fab bike ride on Sunday)
Need to push myself at weekends to get out and get walking.
Great circular walk from Childrey to East Challow with a good friend on Monday finishing at Childrey Stores for delicious coffee and cake.
