PROJECT INVICTUS- 70 miles in November

By Elvis Adu Gyamfi

PROJECT INVICTUS

Project Invictus 27 is a personal campaign created in memory of my dad, Victor, whose life was taken by pancreatic cancer at the age of 54.

My dad crossed oceans to give me the opportunity of a better life. He taught me the value of determination, sacrifice, resilience and never giving up, even when life presents its greatest challenges. Those lessons have stayed with me, and now I want to turn them into something positive that can make a difference to others.

When my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the disease had already reached stage 4. By that point, treatment options were limited, and our family was faced with a reality that no family should have to experience. His journey opened my eyes to how devastating pancreatic cancer can be and how much more needs to be done to improve outcomes for patients and their families.

That is why I created Project Invictus 27.

Inspired by my dad's strength and the meaning of Invictus — unconquered — this campaign is about turning memories into movement and grief into positive action.

Through running, fitness challenges and other sporting events, I will push myself physically and mentally to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK. My first challenge is 70 Miles in November 2026, covering 70 miles throughout Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

But this is bigger than one challenge or one month. Project Invictus 27 is intended to be an ongoing journey, with future challenges designed to keep the conversation going, encourage people to learn about pancreatic cancer and support the vital work being done to improve early diagnosis, research and support for those affected.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps support this important cause. Every share helps spread awareness. And every mile is a reminder that even when someone is no longer physically with us, their strength, influence and legacy can continue to make a difference.

I am doing this for my dad, Victor, for every family affected by pancreatic cancer, and for the people who deserve better chances, better support and more time with the people they love.

His strength brought me here. My strength will help others.

Thank you for being part of Project Invictus 27.
