I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. More than half of people die within three months of diagnosis.

Survival rates for other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years. But decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. People with pancreatic cancer have been overlooked and ignored for far too long.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'd really appreciate your support. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.

Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.

Final Calculations

So..............November is over and that concludes my challenge.
While I have been quiet on here I have been getting my miles in behind the scenes. With little stumpy legs as my company, we have managed to smash my target of 50 miles and have walked a total of 55.8 miles.

It's not been easy and at times I thought I was stupid to do the challenge so soon after Mum had left us. But, somehow she gave me a shove and I got moving.

I hope Mum is proud of this small achievement. To some, walking 50 miles might not seem like a lot and might not seem to be as challenging as other fundraising activities but for me, it wasn't about how hard or tough the challenge was, it was simply to raise awareness and to raise funds for an incredible charity.  A charity that offers so much to families who need vital research, who need someone to talk to when their world is turned upside down, to support children who might not understand the whole situation and need some guidance and comfort.

When Mum was diagnosed, we had so little time to get our heads around what was to come. There's so much we wanted to do/say but we just didn't' have time to do any of it and just weren't prepared..
If raising money can help another family, even just one, then it has all been worth it.

The awareness and money raised will go on to help a huge amount of people in so many ways and that is only down to everyone's kind and generous donations.  I cannot tell you how incredibly grateful I am to everyone who has donated.

For now I am happy to have done this challenge.  'Thank You' to every single one of you who have donated to this cause. All who have offered to walk with me and everyone who has checked in from time to time. You're all amazing!!

Maybe when my head is a little more in the game I can do another challenge. But for now, myself and Dottie Crump are going to snuggle and watch some Christmas movies.

Forever and always, Mum. Until next time. xxxx

Just me and a sausage

So, I’ve been doing little bits here and there but my goodness, I really need someone to give me a kick up the bum.
I’ve had a lovely walk in the woods today, but it has taken some real harsh words with myself to do it. Dottie enjoyed a muddy trek too!
I didn’t see a soul on the route I took and it gave me a lot of time to think. Time with myself to process some things.
I’ve had a bit of a set back with my own health recently, but I’m back fighting fit and I will be putting the extra miles in this week to catch me back and get me back on target.

Knowing that every penny that has been donated for this challenge is going to give so much to so many people at one of the worst times in their lives is what is keeping me going.

Thank you all again for your support. I promise to do better 🌈

Beginning Miles

Well, today was the day I started my miles. We started the day watching Arthur play football. That followed with a beautiful lunch at the Maiden Head.
Before settling in we changed footwear, pipped a collar on Dot Bots and set off.
With Clee hill as our back drop we all set off on a gorgeous Autumnal 3 mile walk.

Not going to lie, while I know how much this will help others, I’m struggling to get motivated. I’m hoping to get in a much better mind set for my next set.

For now, I’ve changed into my comfies, grabbed a hot chocolate and Christmas movies.

Thank you again for all of your support. Although a little deflated today I promise you I’m super determined to get the job done!!
