I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
In September 2019, my dad, Roger Slater was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After a courageous 11-month battle against this terrible illness, he passed away on 9th August 2020, in the middle of the Covid pandemic. For many months prior to his diagnosis, he didn't feel 'quite himself and a little tired' but several check-ups were inconclusive, highlighting the fact that this form of cancer is difficult to diagnose.
I am therefore fundraising in my dad's memory for the charity that works hard not only to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and fund research into early diagnosis and treatment but also to support those families affected by this disease.
At the end of May 2021, I will be walking the 87-mile Ridgeway Trail from Avebury in Wiltshire to Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire over 6 days.
I would be very grateful to anyone who is happy to donate to this incredible charity and support me in one of the biggest challenges of my life (so far!).
