I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Pancreatic cancer is tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. Please support me and help make a difference to pancreatic cancer.
2 years ago i had a serious spine injury and surgery that saved my ability to walk but left me with some nerve damage to my right leg. It's 2 years since the surgery and i want to mark this with a challenge but to raise money for a cancer charity close to my heart.
In 1981 I lost my Ganddad to Pancreatic Cancer and also a friend only 4 years ago. It's so difficult to diagnose and often too late when sympoms present.
Thanks to Pancreatic Cancer UK, research and treatments are improving diagnosis and outcomes BUT it is one of the biggest killers too. 24 people die every day in the UK from this disease.
Please help me to raise some additional funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'll try my best to learn to run again - 50 miles in 24 days!
My donations could fund...
34 hours with a nurse on our Support Line
or
15 hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

50 miles done!
I'm so delighted to be able to complete this challenge. I feel ecstatic and blessed as only 2 years ago I was told that I am lucky to be able to walk, never mind run.
Just 3 miles to go!
Another 4.03 today.
Day 19 of my 24 day challenge for Pancreatic Cancer UK
Another 4 miles closer to my 50 mile target. Only 7 to go in 4 days!
11 miles to go!
So, with only 5 days to go, after another 3.2 miles today I have 11 miles to hit my goal of 50 miles in 24 days!
4 tough miles
Having a bad back during this challenge has really made this much tougher.
More than a marathon!
Another 3.24 miles today which takes me past 29 miles. That's more than the marathon that the doctors said I would never run 😃👍.
Halfway distance
