Remember September 2026

In loving memory of

William (Bill) Jobson

9/5/1965 - 1/4/2026

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die

Support my challenge to fight for a world without pancreatic cancer

This September, I’m walking 84km in memory of my brother-in-law, Bill Jobson, and to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

The 84km represents the 84 people who lose their lives to pancreatic cancer every three days in the UK.

Bill sadly passed away on 1st April 2026, aged just 60, after a long and incredibly brave fight against the disease. He even managed to pass away before noon on April Fools’ Day, leaving us briefly wondering whether this was somehow one final prank — which, for anyone who knew Bill and his sense of humour, would have been entirely in character!

Even while seriously ill, Bill never lost that humour. He continued joking, laughing and being Bill right until the end.

He was a huge part of my life, but most importantly he was a loving husband to my sister Lesley and a devoted dad to their children, my nephew and niece, Will and Rosie. I couldn't be prouder of the way the three of them have dealt with everything they have been through, and continue to deal with the enormous hole Bill has left behind.

Bill was only 60. He should have had so much more time.

That's why, throughout September, I'll be walking 84km to remember Bill, to raise awareness of this devastating disease and, hopefully, to raise some much-needed money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

My initial fundraising target is £197 — one pound for every person who will sadly die from pancreatic cancer in the UK this week.

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK, and around 31 people are diagnosed with it every single day.

So if you can spare anything at all — £2, £5, £10 or simply whatever you can afford — I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation will help fund Pancreatic Cancer UK's work and, just as importantly, every donation is another show of support for the people and families affected by this awful disease.

I'll do the walking. I just need a little help from you to make those 84km count.

For Bill, and for every family affected by pancreatic cancer.

We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.
