I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Pancreatic cancer is tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. Please support me and help make a difference to pancreatic cancer.

As many of you already know my mum, Janet, has been recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She will hopefully be able to return home from hospital to spend time with her loving family.

Today should have been to Riga half marathon in Latvia. But due to COVID-19 it has been postponed. 

However, the event organisers are encouraging all registered participants to run their own race on their favourite route.

I'll be racing this morning for mum,  and I would be grateful for your support.

Race complete!

Thanks very much for everyone who has so generously supported me today. 

Race conditions were perfect, slightly overcast with occasional mistings of rain followed by blue sky.

For the first third, there was a real sense of serenity along the banks of the Daugava river, birdsong and delicious smells of Lilac apple blossom and cut grass filled the fresh air.

On the back straight, I felt propelled forward and more comfortable with my faster than usual pace. My body felt lighter and freer giving me the cushion I needed to relax for the final 5km and still beat my half marathon record by over 4 minutes! 

If I work out how to post photos I will paste my route, stats and finishing line snap with Kiki xx
