FIVE DAYS TO GO

Training has gone really well and with just a few more training walks to go we’re pretty much ready for Wednesday.

Getting Closer to Start date

After a visit south and receiving a flag to carry on our 400+ mile walk, we’re almost ready. I’d like to thank all who have donated so far along with those supporting us along the route.

It’s been a while since my last blog soooo here’s a quick update ……
Training is going brilliantly with my sidekick/physio/nutritionist helping me along the way. Finding new ways to defeat blisters has been tiring but I think we’ve succeeded and fitness levels are rising all the time. 
Recce’s have been done in several areas in the top half of the country and the KOMOOT app has come up trumps on many occasions to help safely map our route to the south coast. 
More recce’s and overnight stops to plan but the excitement of this challenge is getting very real now. 

February Update

Well the new year has started slowly but training is underway. 

Many thanks to those who have donated it is truly appreciated and wow I’m halfway to my target (almost) with the better part of £500 already raised. 

As far as training is going, finding the right footwear is challenging along with blisters and constant knee niggles that come and go. Any advice would be great to hear. 

Longer more consistent walking is the order of the day.

My Walk for Pancreatic Cancer

On 20th September 2023 I shall be walking from Ashington to Gosport some 400 miles to help raise funds for early diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer which took my wife and life away. 
This will be a tough challenge but it doesn’t equal the pain and suffering this disease brings with it.
