Challenge 24 in memory of Simeon Ignatov - helping to fight the battle against Pancreatic Cancer

By Stratiyana Kolesnikova

I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

I decided to take on Challenge 24 for Pancreatic Cancer UK as I lost my grandfather to pancreatic cancer last year.

For my Challenge 24, I will be running 24 miles in 24 days in memory of my wonderful grandfather, Simeon Ignatov.

Pancreatic cancer is tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. Statistics show that 24 people die per day in the UK alone from pancreatic cancer. Survival for pancreatic cancer has barely improved in the last 45 years. Pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed late because symptoms are vague and may not appear until the disease is at an advanced stage.

I want to make more people aware of this type of cancer by helping to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. The charity’s aim is to support people with pancreatic cancer and give people a fighting chance by investing in early diagnosis research.

If anyone wants to join me in Challenge 24, you are more than welcome. Please support me and help make a difference to pancreatic cancer. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
