Stephen's Big Bike Challenge.

On Sunday 17th September I will be taking part in my first ever "sportive". Wylam on Wheels has 3 ride lengths. I "slightly" madly have signed up for the super challenge. 

This will be a 100km (63.5 miles) ride that goes up and down the hills of the North Pennines. Basically it goes out to Blanchland and back in a horribly hilly figure of eight. The total ascent is 4700 feet, slightly more than Ben Nevis!

I lost my mum to pancreatic cancer about 16 years ago and very sadly we now have a wonderful close friend and colleague, JB, with the same diagnosis. (Very sadly JB passed shortly after posting this. So premature and tragic.)
