PCAM Challenge 24

I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. More than half of people die within three months of diagnosis.

Survival rates for other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years. But decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. People with pancreatic cancer have been overlooked and ignored for far too long.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'd really appreciate your support. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.

Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.

My donations could fund...

My Updates

Salisbury

Friday was my second visit to Five Rivers Leisure Centre in Salisbury. Swam and walked in the pool for approximately 45 minutes

A walk in Savernake Forest

Only a gentle stroll after the swim, but why not combine the two? Approx. 1 mile

Marlborough Leisure Centre

Swimming and exercising for 40 minutes

Salisbury Market Square

The start of my walk around my favourite city

Salisbury Guildhall.

Beautiful building prepared for Remembrance Service in the Market Square. Today another enjoyable couple of miles walking around my favourite city.

Walking around Salisbury

Approximately 3 miles using my stick but also very enjoyable. Another visit to a swimming pool later in the week.

Next few days

Previous important appointments have put a halt to my challenge until Wednnesday 6th November but then I’ll be going for it big time!

Third day of my challenge

Change of plan today. No swimming just walking in the water as this aids my Arthritis. Approx 2 miles covered!

My Challenge

As my Arthritis makes walking difficult, I’ve decided to visit as many of the leisure centres in Wiltshire, and assuming they have a swimming pool, spend around 30 minutes swimming, and take a photograph of the building.

Day 2 of my challenge ( can’t wait till 1st November!)

7am swimming at Tidworth Leisure Centre

First swim of my challenge

Wednesday 23/10/2024 Five Rivers Leisure Centre, Salisbury
