I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month - to help raise awareness and hopefully some vital funds for research; my dog, my bump and I plan to complete 24 5k's in November either running, walking or cycling. 24 is a significant number as 24 people die of Pancreatic Cancer in the UK each day.
Pancreatic Cancer is the 10th most common cancer in the UK and is the 5th most common cause of cancer death with more than half of those diagnosed dying within 3 months. One of the reasons for this is that 80% of cases are diagnosed at a late stage - would you know what symptoms to look for?
Research into Panceatic Cancer is severly underfunded meaning it's survival rates are not improving the way other cancers are.
I would love to see an increased awareness of Pancreatic Cancer and want to do my bit to raise funds for research by Pancreatic Cancer UK - £180 pays for 6 hours of research.
This is a cause close to my heart as my mum was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in early 2016 and went through Chemotherapy and Radiation treatment to successfully fight it for over a year until it took her life in March 2017.
Did you know it also took the life of these famous people; David Bowie, Steve Jobs, Aretha Franklin, Karl Lagerfield, Patryk Swayze, Joan Crawford.
My house will be lit up Purple all November - look out for other purple landmarks like the Ness Bridge!

Thank you VERY much to everyone who's supported my challenge and helped smash my fundraising target - despite not being allowed to run since the middle of the month I've rambled my way through 23 5k's so far with the final one planned with Kym joining me by phone in Glasgow tonight (wouldn't be 2020 without needing to do things virtually
