Raising money in memory of Sylvie Temple
Hello everyone, I am running 24 miles in 24 days to raise money for pancreatic cancer.
This is a terrible illness that took my Grandmother Sylvie Temple in 2023. Losing Nan shattered my family's world. There's no other way to describe it other than sudden and ruthless.
Sylvie was the matriarch of our family; she would always pick up the phone to share wisdom and advice, especially about mental health. She also brought such laughter into our lives, always had something to say about everything, and if you hadn't kept her updated, well then you were simply a 'secret squirrel'!
Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers because it lacks sufficient treatments - there is still so much research to be done. It broke our hearts when we lost Sylvie. Fundraising for future lives won't bring her back but it will surely help others.
