I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

As some of you may know, we recently lost a very special & dear friend after a long battle with Pancreatic cancer. 

As devastating as the diagnosis was, Suzanne fought every moment with such dignity and positivity and truly lived life to the fullest that her illness would allow her. 

Suzanne was only 45 when she was diagnosed and lost her battle at only 49 - pancreatic cancer does not discriminate! 

This cancer is very tough to diagnose, and in many cases it is detected too late for any treatment to be successful.

I want to raise money in Suzanne's memory so it can go towards much needed research into the disease in order to get earlier diagnosis and treatment.

I have therefore challenged myself to run a distance of 109 miles during the 31 days in October which is the distance between my home and Suzanne's  

Please would you help me reach my target, any donation will be greatly appreciated and will go towards better care, treatment and research and for pancreatic cancer to have the recognition it needs.

Day 31 - last day!!!!

So, there it is, 109 miles done! 
Steve came with me on the last 2.5 miles, not sure whether he enjoyed it, however its his contribution to this cause and of course in memory of Suzanne. 
I have to say that there were times I didnt want to run but now its all done I feel a bit sad as majority of the time I quite enjoyed it. Massive thank you to each and everyone who sponsored me and offered kind words of support - i knew I had a good bunch of friends and FB buddies but I am overwhelmed at how nice people are, considering that everyone is facing their own daily battles. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart! xx

Day 30!

I cant believe I've only got 1 day left to do!
I have a special mascot joining me for the last 2.5 miles tomorrow....Steve is coming along with me!
Steve isnt a regular runner and Suzanne would be chuckling away knowing I've roped him into it!
Any support not matter how small is very much appreciated and thank you to everyone for your brilliant support throughout the month! Xx

Nearly there!

Havent posted for a few days now, as been keeping everyone updated via Facebook.
Since my last blog I've completed another 36.79miles and I've only got just over 24 to go!
This last few days I've found a hit tough, everything seems to be aching, today my hips have decidedto play up.....anyone would think I'm an OAP 😂 Anyway, I'll push on, not far now! Massive thanks to everyone who has supported me so far, truly appreciate every single kind word from all my lovely friends and acquaintances. Would love to hit the 2k mark so any more spare pennies are always welcome! 👍

Day 12, 13 & 14

Have completed 3.5 miles for the last 3 days......got a new pair of trainers which I tried out today and I have to say they are great....wish I had replaced my old ones at the start of the month!! 
Ankle is still a bit swollen but doesn't feel as bad so hopefully over the worst of it. 
Nearly half way there!!!

Day 11

Decided to have a rest day today, need to give my ankle a little time. 
Plan to get back on it tomorrow and see how we get on.

Day 10

Woke up with a cankle this morning which is rather annoying!
Decided to use the treadmill today as its a little softer surface. Started off walking for 1.5miles to loosen up a bit then finished the next 2 miles running. Got an ice pack on now.......see whats what tomorrow! 

Day 9

Well chuffed with todays effort. Set out feeling a bit deflated thinking i would struggle to do the 3.5 miles cus of my granny ankle, however once I got going it actually started to ease after a couple of miles so cracked on and did 5! My pal Vicky came with me today which was a nice change having some support....however, didn't do my breathing any good with all that chatter! 

Day 8

Well, today was a bit of a disappointment......i seem to have strained my tibialis posterior tendon which i though a bit of ice and some ibuprofen last night would have done the trick but as the day went on it go more painful. Frustratingly, i decided to still do my miles but i walked them instead. 
Borrowed an ankle brace from my sister today so gonna ice again tonight and try the brace tomorrow! 
Hey ho, onwards and upwards! Tomorrow is another day! 

Day 6 & 7

Yesterday for day 6 I did a 4 mile run outdoors which I really quite enjoyed and did my best time ! I'm a bit late today so jumped on the treadmill....i have to say I found it hard today, my ankle is playing up and think i am tiring a bit with not having any rest days....also trying to keep up with other exercise so I'm on the bike as I type this! Could have quite easily skipped today but then I think of suzanne and how she never gave up so I just tell myself...suck it up butter cup and get the hell on with it! Peace out ✌ 

Day 5

Times flying, day 5 already! Took Pinot with me today and completed 4 miles! Had to stop a few times, poo pick up after the mutt and chasing him down a few times, he is easily distracted! 
Quite a pleasant run though, chose the tow path today, but squishy under foot but enjoyed!

Day 3

So I did my stint today on the treadmill, the weather is wet and miserable so staying indoors was much more appealing!
Pleased that I beat my time yesterday, only by a smidgen but even so its an improvement! 
Now I'm gonna go chill infront of the TV.......

Here we go!

So, here we are, 1st October, can only mean one thing...start of my run!
I've never been a morning exerciser,  hence why its 4.30 and I'm just about to start!

Great job. Pancreatic cancer is such a hideous disease, unfortunately, my grandad got diagnosed with this Feb19, thankfully, he is doing very well at the moment and is feeling relatively well. He isn’t on treatment, as doctor said it wouldn’t not make any difference, and gave him 4 months to live. He is doing the holistic approach, and seems to be doing well.
