I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Hi! My name is Niamh Sutherland and I’m 15 years old from the Scottish Highlands. As I’m sure you are aware we are in a tough time at the moment with the current Covid-19 situation. I can say for myself that I have not been having the best time in the world during lockdown and I’m sure some other people can agree. Right now we are allowed to go out for some exercise once a day. This may seem like nothing to us, but I want to make it count for something a bit bigger. Pancreatic Cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the pancreas which is an organ close to the stomach. In 2015-2017, 10,257 people were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the UK and only 5% managed to recover. It is tough to notice, tough to fight and tough to recover. I have no connections to pancreatic cancer myself, but I would like to come out of lockdown and say that I did something to help other people who are less fortunate. To raise awareness and do my part for Pancreatic Cancer UK , I have decided to take on challenge 24. I will walk at least 2 miles a day for 24 days starting 29th of April 2020.
