I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Pancreatic cancer is tough – tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. And, in the uncertain times we’re currently experiencing, things have become even tougher for people with pancreatic cancer.
I’m taking on Challenge 24 at home to raise money for this vital cause because 24 people are still dying every day from pancreatic cancer. So i have decided to take up the challenge of cycling 240km in 24 days!
My mum was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer back in July 2019. The support and treatment she has received from the NHS and the cancer units has been phenomenal!! She has fought this horrible disease with such determination so far and the fighting will go on until it has gone. Her focus for beating this disease is her granddaughters so that she can see her 2 granddaughters who she adores grow up into young ladies. The last time she physically saw them was about 7 weeks due to all that is currently going on. She has missed them terribly and anyone who knows her knows that she absolutely adores them and cannot wait to give them hugs and kisses again.
As a family we are determined to beat this and win the battle! For me personally i want to do my bit to try and help people beat this horrible disease so that everyone wins. For those who know me any challenge i face in life or sport i battle until the end...i do not like to lose!!
