I'm pushing myself physically (and mentally) to fundraise for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month
November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month and this year I am joining Pancreatic Cancer UK's Challenge 24. Every day in the UK, 24 people die from pancreatic cancer. Sadly, in December 2020, my Mum became one of those statistics.
Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer because it's not easy to detect and diagnose so more than half of people die within three months of diagnosis. Survival rates for other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years; but decades of underfunding mean they still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.
If you know me, you know I like to exercise but I'm going to challenge myself physically and mentally this November by cycling 24 miles 24 times throughout November. Yes that's 576 miles! My £576 fundraising target represents £1 for every mile I complete so I'd really appreciate your help in achieving my fundraising target. It will certainly help to push me on when my legs won't!
Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer and hopefully reduce that 24 statistic.
