I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

My mom was a hardworking, kind, larger than life and tough as old boots character who touched many peoples lives but in 2015 she became unwell, she kept going back and forwards to the GP with no answers for why she was feeling the way that she was. One morning, her skin had become jaundice and after going back to the GP they sent her straight to the hospital, after a couple of days in the hospital and after having a stent fitted in her liver, on 5th November 2015, we received the devastating news that my wonderful mom had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and they would only offer chemo to prolong her life. After a few days of reflection my mom decided that she wanted quality of life over quantity, she began getting everything in order from planning her own funeral, which sitting there listening and watching your own mom do was heartbreaking to making sure she had finalised all her plans and last wishes to spending time with her nearest and dearest. On 21st December 2015, just 6 weeks after her diagnosis, my mom sadly passed away, leaving a massive hole in so many people’s lives. As 2025 will mark 10 years of her becoming unwell and passing away I have decided to raise money for pancreatic cancer UK to help with earlier detection, more research and hopefully one day, a cure so that families in the future have a fighting chance against this disease.
