I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. More than half of people die within three months of diagnosis.

Survival rates for other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years. But decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. People with pancreatic cancer have been overlooked and ignored for far too long.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'd really appreciate your support. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.

Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.

My donations could fund...

9

hours with a nurse on our support line

4

hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

Made it to Appledore!

I have now cycled on my exercise bike the full 24 miles, 39km, which has got me to Appledore, where Liz used to live. Challenge is finished, thanks to everyone who supported me.

19 miles so far on my exercise bike

I have now cycled 19 miles on my virtual route towards Appledore - having just passed through Northam - I am nearly there now, to Liz's home village.

Have just passed Huntshaw Cross

I am on my virtual ride and have completed 12 miles, so I am just past Huntshaw Cross on my way down to the coast.

Challenge is underway

I have had some wonderful support and donations, for which I am grateful. I think it would help to imagine a real cycle ride. So I am heading for the North Devon coast! My exercise bike is made in Germany, so it only records in kilometres...so I have now completed 12km which is 7.5 miles and brings me just through Beaford, heading for Torrington.

Looking forward to the challenge

Starting this Friday 1st November, I am aiming to cycle 24 miles on my exercise bike. My plan is to ride about 1 mile every day which leaves a few days spare, in case I can't manage it. Delighted that I already have some amazing sponsorship. I think of my good friend Liz so often. She only had one month to live after finding she had pancreatic cancer. This situation needs to change!

Thank you to my Sponsors
