I am fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK

I know so many people who have/have had cancer. It's all very distressing and challenging and sometimes ends in tragic loss. In December a lovely work colleague, Tony Newson, died from pancreatic cancer not long after being diagnosed. It's a cancer that's especially tough to diagnose, tough to treat and tough to research. Please support me and help make a difference to pancreatic cancer. I'm going to jog for at least 2 miles every day without stopping - I can walk or cycle for hours but I find jogging really really hard, so this really will be a toughie for me! I’ll be doing this for 24 days along with other workmates across the country who are trying to fundraise too in memory of Tony. Please help and give a donation if you can. Hopefully we can all add to research underway to defeat it.

My donations could fund...

46 hours with a nurse on our Support Line

or

21 hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

Thank you!!!!!!

Thank you thank you to all my wonderful supporters 🙏🙏🙏 Last day today, did a whole hour on the treadmill to celebrate and commemorate all those who I now know were lost to this horrible cancer. Sending love ❤️

Keeping at it!

Getting better at jogging for 2 miles without stopping! Also reaching peak cardio every day #FitbitFan so am fitter, though it’s tiring. But really pleased to be doing this and thinking of all the people I’ve found out have been lost to Pancreatic cancer ❤️ - really hoping that progress can be made so that it’s spotted sooner and maybe more lives can be saved ❤️‍🩹

Jogging along!

Tough, but going well! Definitely not physically suited to running but not doing too badly at learning to shuffle along and can now hit my 2 mile target in 18-19 minutes on a good day. Some days on the treadmill, others jogging along with the dogs. Fabulously funny Fitbit GPS tracking from Sunday 😂

Jogging on!

Getting into a routine of getting in the treadmill, warming up and then going for my 2 mile target. Managing to do that in 19-20 minutes, then carrying on doing ‘fartlek’ - jogging and walking - for a while. Definitely improving! Quite a challenge as I huff and puff but great knowing that so many friends are supporting me.

Yee haa!

After a slower shuffle jog (shog?) yesterday I went for it on the treadmill this morning and managed 2 miles in 19 minutes!!! 🤩 Very physically demanding but great to be succeeding and getting faster! So motivating to know so many friends are supporting this 🙏

Another jog with the dogs!

Nice and sunny!

Just chilling…

Utterly freezing this morning on the treadmill, BBC had it as ‘felt like’ -5C. Still, the chill made me go faster as I needed to get warm and stay that way! Did my 2 miles jogging in 20 mins, fastest so far!

Jog with the dogs!

Out today with Jackie and the dogs, jogging alongside. Quite a slog with the dogs as it took a while but very pleased to have been out with them and enjoying the scenery and bracing air!

Ready to roll!

hi jules. well done! £36 is a strange number. here's the story. in the hebrew alphabet the first ten letters have numerical value. the combination of 8 and 10 spell the word for 'life'. so many in the jewish community make donations in multiples of 18. hence 36--2x18.
