I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. More than half of people die within three months of diagnosis.

Survival rates for other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years. But decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. People with pancreatic cancer have been overlooked and ignored for far too long.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'd really appreciate your support. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.

Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.

My donations could fund...

14

hours with a nurse on our support line

6

hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

Last run

So Saturday 30th November I completed the 24 miles by running the final 3 in 28 minutes. This challenge has been so hard, finding the time to fit a run in was alot more difficult than I anticipated!
I haven't fallen in love with running, but I'm proud of what I've achieved. Raised over £400 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Next year I think I'll swim and/or cycle the 24 miles!!

Run #7

Today I ran 4 miles in 45 minutes. The end is in sight, 6 miles to go. This challenge has been tough, and I've not enjoyed it. I'm not a runner. Next time I'm cycle or swim!
I'm proud of myself for sticking at it. It's such an important cause.
My mum has had 2 chemo sessions now, and is doing really well, I'm sure the 6 months will fly by!

Run #4

Felt alot better today, still only doing 2m each time but I really struggle mentally with running and my brain just wants me to stop. Knocked 40 seconds off my time which is great and managing further at a consistent pace

Run #3

This was hard going. I'm always tired on Thursdays as Tues and Weds are busy long days at work, but I forced myself to do it. Next run is planned for Saturday.

My daughter Chloe is joining I  and walking 24km this month. 1km each time. She's done 3 now and I'm so proud of her!

Second run done ✔️

Did my second 2 mile run today, was a lit t le bit more comfortable and knocked 1 minute off my previous time. Feeling alot better about it all!
Smashed my original target of raising £150 so I have upped it to £250
Great big thank you to everyone who has donated and given their support.

Build up to November

So today I've made the decision to do challenge 24 for Pancreatic Cancer. My mum was recently diagnosed with this so it's something that is close to my heart.
I am going to run 24 miles in November, and I hate running, so it's a real challenge! Hopefully someone will lend me a treadmill so that I can do it at home, as being a working single parent it's hard to find time to get out and do things

Thank you to my Sponsors
