I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Many of you would have heard my father-in-law, Ian, sadly passed away on 27th July following a short battle with pancreatic cancer after being diagnosed last November. He passed away peacefully at home with support from all the family.
In honour of him and continuing the support on how we can help other families who go through this brutal disease, I am raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK as I embark on my longest running challenge yet. On 9th August, I will be running 103 miles, 166km, 3.93 marathons or 27.7 5Ks along the North Downs Way from Farnham in Surrey to Ashford in Kent, a distance that most would find long even in a car!
I fondly remember Ian always saying “you’re mad” for doing these running challenges so know he will be echoing these words in spirit to me on the day!
N.B. If you are using Apple Pay, please remember to still tick the Gift Aid option if you are a UK taxpayer for a 25% top up from HMRC.
We are Pancreatic Cancer UK.
We go above and beyond for everyone affected by this disease. Right now, half of people with pancreatic cancer die within three months of diagnosis. Families are left with only hope to hold onto. They need more. So, we do more.
We bring more breakthroughs through research, more change through campaigning, and more support through our expert nurses. We make more noise because people have gone unheard. We are relentless because the disease is ruthless. We care more because people feel forgotten.
My donations could fund...
58 hours with a nurse on our Support Line
or
26 hours of early diagnosis research

Centurion NDW 100

THE NDW100 IS A 100 MILE CONTINUOUS TRAIL RUN ALONG THE NORTH DOWNS WAY. THE COURSE TRAVELS FROM FARNHAM IN THE SURREY HILLS TO ASHFORD IN KENT. TOTAL CLIMB OF 11,000 FEET. 15TH ANNUAL.
The race begins in Farnham at the Western end of the North Downs. The course works its way through some of the best of the English countryside before traveling through the small village of Puttenham and on to Guildford. It then continues on to Ranmore Common before the steepest climb of the race up to the top of Box Hill. The trail then drops down the other side and back up to Reigate Hill, on through Merstham to Oxted and a further 8 miles to Knockholt Pound and the 50 mile point at the outermost edge of Greater London. The course then travels on through Wrotham and Holly Hill before crossing the Medway Bridge. The final 25 miles see runners travel South East towards Dover running the majority on trails, paying brief visits to the villages of Detling, Hollingbourne, Harrietsham and Charing before dropping down into Ashford and the finish at the Julie Rose Stadium.
