I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Shortly after this photo of my Uncle Alan & Ted was taken in the summer last year, Alan returned back to Australia and was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.

Our hearts were broken when Uncle Alan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones last Friday 25th October.

In Uncle Alan’s memory myself and Ted will be walking 24 miles throughout November (PC Awareness Month) to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK with funds also benefitting Pankind which is the Australian Pancreatic Cancer support foundation.

Now, 24 miles does not seem much but I am unfit, and was already settling into hibernation mode for the winter, so a challenge it is!

We couldn’t be in Australia to say our goodbyes to Uncle Alan and support our family but will walk in his memory and raise as much as we can.

We love you Uncle Alan, rest in peace. xx

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. More than half of people die within three months of diagnosis.

Survival rates for other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years. But decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. People with pancreatic cancer have been overlooked and ignored for far too long.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'd really appreciate your support. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.

Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.

My donations could fund...

64

hours with a nurse on our support line

30

hours of early diagnosis research

Freeeeeezing Cold Walk - Day 20

Day 20 freezing but still walking

Thank you all so so much for your generous donations so far.  Today is day 20 of my daily walks….10 days to go.
Despite the cold and the dark, I am enjoying getting out every day, it’s great for clearing the head and getting the steps in (if I don’t go past a shop & get a choccy fix in - oops).  If you haven’t already donated but would like to there is still plenty of time.  You will be supporting a great cause & the memory of my wonderful Uncle Alan 💜

Day 1 1st November

Off to a flying start, 2 walks completed today but didn’t feel official until I was wearing my Purple Tee!

My trusty sidekick Ted ditched me on the first day, but he completed his own 1.5 mile walk in the afternoon whilst I was at work - well done Ted.

We will be walking every day in November and appreciate anything that can be spared to support our fundraiser xx

Wow! Target increase

Before we even start tomorrow, our original target of £200 has been smashed so I have raised the target amount to £600.

Thank you so much to our generous donations so far 🫶🏻
