I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

My girlfriend Alexandra, who graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Art and Design from Lancaster University in July 2024, but her journey took a dramatic turn just a year earlier. On March 17, 2023, at the age of 20, she was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer—a diagnosis so rare for someone her age that it left many in disbelief.
Despite the challenges, Alexandra faced her illness with unwavering determination and a positive spirit. She explored various treatments, inspiring those around her with her resilience and hope. In August 2024, however, she received the heartbreaking news that her cancer had progressed to stage 4, and doctors estimated she had only days to weeks to live.
But Alexandra had one final wish: to return home to Peru to be with her beloved family. To make this possible required an Air Ambulance and around £150,000. Driven by her fierce will and the love of her family, she rallied support and made her dream a reality.
Alexandra returned to Peru, where she cherished precious moments with her family, surrounded by love. She passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of courage, love, and the profound reminder that even in the face of the unimaginable, the human spirit can shine brightly. Her journey continues to inspire all who knew her, proving that hope and determination can lead to beautiful, meaningful moments, even in the toughest of times.
I want to continue to spread awareness and honour Alex’s legacy that’s why this November during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month I will be cycling 24 Miles a week to help spread awareness and funding for Pancreatic Cancer UK and to help spread Alex’s story.
