Please sponsor me to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. I will be running in the Bordeaux half marathon in memory of Steve Clamp. My Dad. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2019 and lost his battle in June 2019. This type of cancer is a silent killer and is usually only diagnosed when it is too late. My dad remained positive and brave up until the very sad end. He inspired me with how he dealt with his diagnosis. As such I wish to do something positive in his name and hopefully raise some money along the way to help make a difference to pancreatic cancer.

My Dad's positivity inspired me more than he will know
I lost my father to pancreatic cancer towards the tailend of June 2019. It wasn't diagnosed initially, it was the secondary liver cancer they picked up, it was only after other tests and scans they discovered the primary site was his pancreas.
It was obviously an emotional rollercoaster after he found out he had cancer, but he remained positive right up to the end, always being more concerned about how his illness was impacting those around him rather than himself.
Sadly he was unable to receive any treatment as his cancer was already too advanced so we had to make the most of the time he had left. Which I am glad to say as a family we were able to do.
I miss my Dad and there isn't a day where I don't have that sinking feeling remembering he has gone. I am using my grief as the driving force to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer. At the moment it is for a half marathon in Bordeaux at the end of October, after that I will wait and see how else I can raise money and awareness of Pancreatic Cancer. The one thing I am sure of is I will continue to do so!

I first met your Dad in the pits at Mallory Park with Tom and Stella. He was a lovely guy and I was shocked and saddened beyond measure when I heard of his illness and passing. Not least because I had spent a long time chatting to him T Silverstone the year before.
