I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer in NovemberMonth

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. More than half of people die within three months of diagnosis.

Survival rates for other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years. But decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. People with pancreatic cancer have been overlooked and ignored for far too long.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'd really appreciate your support. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.

Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.

My donations could fund...

216

hours with a nurse on our support line

104

hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

A big thank you!

The final total of funds raised in memory of my dearest Ann is £5820 plus £801.38 gift aid giving a grand total of £6621.38. This has far exceeded my expectations so thank you so much everyone. I really appreciate your donations and your support.
Gammy knee is better but now have rotten coughing bug!

Thank you to all my supporters

Thank you so much for all your generous donations to this cause in memory of my dearest Ann. I also appreciate the many  encouraging and sympathetic comments.
It has been a great help to me and I pray that all the money raised this month will contribute to the mitigation and eventual cure for this terrible disease. Sincerely Chris Lowther

target increased

As a result of everyone's generosity I have raised the target to £5000. I am hors de combat with 'gammy' knee at the moment so not been able to continue my steps but had already achieved 300,000 steps during October and November.

Target met once again!

Happy to report my generous supporters have donated over £2500. I easily beat the 250,000 steps target in October and early November, but have been rebaselined so step count restarted on 1 Nov, so oy 86,000 steps shown on my dashboard. I now have a 'gammy' left knee so have to ease off and give it some rest. Hopefully it will recover so that I can reach the step target once again. Thank you everyone for your great generosity in memory of my very dearest Ann.

Updated target

As a result of the great generosity of friends, colleagues, famil, neighbours and many more I have exceeded my last target of £2000 once more so have increased the target to £2500. Please help me achieve this in memory of my dearest Ann

target raised to £1500

Thanks to the generosity of many supporters I must increase my target to £1500. Thank you everyone for your support.

my target has increased to £1000

My generous  sponsors have donated over £660 to date with exceeds my current target of £500. This is great news but I would like to introduce a stretched target if £1000 and ,in memory of my dearest Ann, help pancreatic cancer research uk even more. So, if you have not already donated I urge you to do so in support of a great cause. Too many people die of this horrible disease.

My 24 Challenge to support pancreatic research UK in memory of my dearest Ann

Thanks to all of you who have donated  I have already exceeded my target of £250 thanks to you. I would like to raise my target to £500, but don't want to impose on those who have already donated so please spread the word so that others might consider a donation. Ann was such a good person, Beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside and she was slim and fit for her age and yet she succumbed to this awful disease in less than 3 months despite her strong will and Yorkshire grit. Much more research is needed to prevent this happening to the 24 people who die of the disease every day in the UK

Thank you to my Sponsors

Chris, good luck - brother has just survived colonic cancer, a brother in law throat cancer and am, myself, about to start radiotherapy for cancer in my tonsils and lymph gland. I am so sorry to hear about your wife. I don’t think we knew one another while serving - I was invalided in 1970! But, 1963 entry in Exmouth! All the very best for your endeavour. I think the funding stream is looking healthy!! Nigel

God Bless you Chris for setting this up, When I moved from the KUP project to NLNG Bonny (for 7 years) I awarded the PIG cleaning works to a south african company, and two young south african lads - twins came on site to surpervise and manage, they became very good frieds of the 'Woodies Bush Bar fraternity', Steven and Cecil. Cecil met a Shell teacher Nichola and married her and they had two children. Very sadly at 44 Cecil had Pancreatic Cancer, he lasted 3 months. Devasting.... I am still a very close friend of Nichola and their children, he must be so proud of them when he looks down on them xx as I am sure your wife is of you and your family. God Bless luv bren xxx
