I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer because my dearest friend has just been diagnosed with it.

Pancreatic cancer is an aggressive cancer.

Research of other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years. But decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. People with pancreatic cancer have been overlooked and ignored for far too long.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'd really appreciate your support. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.

Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.

My donations could fund...

55

hours with a nurse on our support line

26

hours of early diagnosis research

🌟 Challenge24 finished

✨️ Challenge24 completed✨️ I celebrated the completion of my 24 miles with Mark and Julia in Birmingham. It seemed fitting that I celebrate my 50th mile with them in Welland. It was such a privilege to walk my last mile with Julia and then telling Mark all about it and having a photo with both of them at the end. What a journey it has been. Both for them and their family and friends, Not to mention challenging myself to more than double the required 24miles.The support and donations have been overwhelming, which is testament to how much Mark and Julia are loved and how many lives they have touched. It was an absolute privilege to take part in thePancreatic Cancer UK awareness month! Not to mention, raising much needed money to support the charity which is doing fantastic research and supporting people and their families going through this difficult time. I shall definitely be doing the same next year again 🤩 Ps To see the gallery with more photos, scroll down to the end of the list of sponsors. To read an ongoing account of my walks, it falls under the heading of "It's November and the challenge has officially started "

Cambridge

Walking around the stunning city of Cambridge in bright sunshine today was amazing. It is truly a beautiful place to take in the old and new. It is so iconic and I am very privileged to have it on my doorstep. Please look at the gallery! Photos range from the iconic King's College, punts on the river Cam, the market square, the Mathematical Bridge, the Round church, our very own Paddington bear and even a Cambridge gin distillery shop!

Bourn Village

Walked around the village of Bourn today. The above cottage is covered with rambling roses in the summer with a multitude of various colours of foxgloves and hollyhocks in the front garden. It is just as I had imagined what an English cottage looked like growing up as a little girl in South Africa reading Beatrix Potter. See gallery for more cottages.

Toft Woods

A lovely walk around the village of Toft, my old stomping ground. Very mild today, however, swept away in 60 mile p/h wind. Great when one got it from behind! See gallery for more more pics.

Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial

A long walk in damp, cold and very blustery conditions. Beautifully manicured lawns and scenery. Being there and trying to take it all in was very poignant.

World Pancreatic Cancer day

A very cold and icy (-4⁰C) walk to Madingley Hall. I ventured around the grounds before meeting Sheila Garnham, one of my lovely sponsors. Celebrated World Pancreatic Cancer day with a coffee and croissant. Thank you for the treat Sheila! See gallery for more photos.

Wellness walk.

Lovely cross country walk in the sunshine with Karina, one of my sponsors. It's organised by Comberton Baptist church. John Garnham, another one of my sponsors led the walk. Gallery pic shows muddy boots 😉

Road walk.

Short road walk. Legs are now ready for the next 20 miles!

Huge Costa cup is my turning back marker.

Short road walk. See gallery for actual size.
