Bev & Tracey's Slice for Life Fundraiser
Pancreatic cancer has touched our lives in the most heart-breaking way. We have both lost a beloved parent to this devastating disease, Bev’s dad and Tracey’s mum. Today, a number of our friends are also facing pancreatic cancer and, tragically, in all but one case, the diagnosis came too late for curative treatment.
The reality is that our families and friends have not simply been unlucky. Pancreatic cancer remains one of the deadliest forms of cancer in the UK, with survival rates far lower than many other cancers. Too often, symptoms are vague, diagnosis comes late, and families are left facing an unimaginably difficult future.
We cannot change the outcome for those we have lost, nor can we perform miracles for those currently battling this cruel disease. What we can do is help create hope for future generations. By raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK, we can support the scientists and researchers working tirelessly to develop earlier diagnostic tests, more effective treatments, and ultimately give more people the chance of a longer, healthier life.
Our Slice for Life campaign is about turning grief into action and hope into progress.
On 5 February, we will host a Black and White Afternoon Tea at Tender, The Stock Exchange, where we hope to raise additional funds through a special auction and raffle. Every penny raised will go to Pancreatic Cancer UK and help fund vital research and support services.
If you are able to donate, no matter how much, you will be helping to give families something priceless: hope. Together, we can help ensure that fewer people hear the words that currently change lives forever.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity and support. It truly means more than words can say.
