100 Miles in May: Honouring My Dad, Robert “Bob” Elliot, and Taking a Stand Against Pancreatic Cancer

This May, I’m taking on a challenge that’s deeply personal: walking 100 miles to raise funds and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK. I’m doing this in memory of my dad, Robert “Bob” Elliot—a true gentle giant, a man with a heart of gold, and someone who always put everyone else before himself. To us, he was a giant teddy bear—warm, kind, and always there when you needed him.

Just a short time ago, our world changed forever when my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was told he might have six months. We only had seven weeks.

Pancreatic cancer is cruel. It often doesn’t show symptoms until it’s far too late, and progress is fast and unforgiving. Watching someone so full of life fade so quickly was heartbreaking. There was so little time, so few options, and far too many unanswered questions. That’s why I’m determined to do something—anything—to help change that for other families in the future.

And to make this even more of a challenge? I’ll be doing it while 28+ weeks pregnant. Every mile will take effort, but every mile is for him. For Bob. For the dad who showed me what real strength, love, and selflessness looks like.

This walk is more than a fundraiser—it’s a tribute. It’s a way to keep his memory alive and to fight back against a disease that takes far too many, far too soon. I’m walking 100 miles with his name in my heart, and with hope that together, we can make a difference.

If you’re able to support me—whether through a donation, sharing my story, or simply cheering me on—it would mean more than words can say. Let’s shine a light on pancreatic cancer, fund life-saving research, and walk for the ones we’ve lost and those still fighting.
