PCAM Challenge 24

I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. More than half of people die within three months of diagnosis.

Survival rates for other cancers have improved dramatically in recent years. But decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. People with pancreatic cancer have been overlooked and ignored for far too long.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK and I'd really appreciate your support. Your donations will support vital, world-leading research, ensure specialist nurses are there to take more calls and fuel campaigns to drive positive change.

Together, we will bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.

My donations could fund...

18

hours with a nurse on our support line

8

hours of early diagnosis research

My Updates

Next weekend sees the start of my challenge 24 for Pancreatic Cancer research. This cause is very important to me as my family and I lost my sister-in-law Josie in April this year to this dreadful disease. Josie was full of life. She was kind and funny and a loving wife, mother sister aunty and dear friend to many. She was my daughter’s ‘fun aunty’ guaranteed to make you laugh, or say it as it was. Her family are devastated by her loss.

That’s why it’s important that no other family experience the sudden loss of a loved from Pancreatic Cancer. Along with my husband we plan to walk 24 miles from the most Northen point of the Cynon Valley to the most southerly.

November 3 we starting in Penderyn  at the county boundary line in the Bannauu Brecheiniog (Cadair Fawr) walking to Hirwaun RFC.

November  10 we walk from Hirwaun via Trecynon, and Cwmdare to Cwmbach.

November 23  we walk from Glynhafod, Cwmaman via  Aberaman to Aberdare and on to Cwmbach

November 30 we walk from  Cwmbach via Mountain Ash to Abercynon.

Josie did like a tipple and so we do plan to stop at a few pubs along the way! Please support us  by donating to this worthy cause.
